Need a shave?

Sweeny Todd is here to help!  That's right, today at Simply B Stamps, we are previewing the first in this series of Burton Chibis, Sweeny Todd!  Isn't he the coolest, in his own crazy demented sort of way!?  I have never seen the movie so I had to rely on the internet for getting my "feel" for this character.  In all of the pictures I saw of him, he looks haunted and tired along with crazed so I tried to recreate those feelings with my Copics.  How did I do?  I think I pretty much nailed him!

My image is on Neenah Classic Crest and colored with Copics.  I wanted his skin to look creepy so I used E41 and E42 to give him that haunted creepy look.  His hair was done with E25, E27, E29 and E49 along with W0 and W1 for the streak.  His lips are R35 and R37.  The shirt was done with E34, E35 and E37; belt and knife holder with C1, E13, E15 and E17; pants and shoes with E44, E47 and E49.  His razors were colored with W7, W8, C1, C3 and, of course, a little R35 to give them a little bloody look. My shadows are done with C0 and C00.  After I cut him out, I stippled the edges with Tim Holtz gathered twigs distress ink.  He's layered on red and brown Bazzill, Basic Grey kissing booth in truly and a strip of red punched out with Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo border punch.  Here's my sizes:

Base - Standard A-2,  4 1/4" w x 5 1/2" h
1st layer - 4 1/8" w x 5 1/4 h
Punch - 4 1/8" w
Brown layer - 3 3/8" w x 4 3/4" h
Red layer - 3 2/8" w x 4 1/2" h
Image layer - 3" w x 4 5/16" h

Let me know if you find the sizes helpful and if you do, I'll continue to list them.  If you aren't really interested in that much detail, just say so and I'll leave them off.  Don't want to bore any of you!

Be sure to check out the Simply B Stamps blog to see what the other design team gals have cooked up to delight your senses.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look and be sure to check back tomorrow evening for the next preview in this creepily fun series of images.  I'm sure we'll have something to whet the appetite, pie anyone?

Hugs,
Lea

  1. I'd say you're right- you nailed it. However, you HAVE to see it. I'll try to remember to bring it by the Cottage the next time I'm over.
