Stampendous Sneak Peek!

Hello there!  Wow, it's been a while since I've posted!  Hope you all enjoyed your holidays and have had a great start to the new year.  Cyndi Bundy and I went to California last week and had a wonderful time.  I did the first Copic Color and Ink Workshop with Colleen Schaan, Debbie Olson, Sherrie Siemens, Cindy Lawrence and Marianne Walker.  Oh my gosh!  It was so much fun and those ladies are amazing!  Next up, four glorious days of CHA!  I took quite a few pics which I will post later.  It's so much fun walking around and watching demos, doing make and takes and talking to some of the biggest names in the industry.  So much fun!  As if that wasn't enough, Cyndi and I drove to the very picturesque town of Temecula, CA and took a class with Dyan Reaveley.  Let me tell you, Dyan is just a hoot!  Love her!  We got home this past Thursday and I've been trying to adjust back to the east coast time zone since.  I honestly don't know how those that jump back and forth between coasts do it on a regular basis.  This girl could not!

So, on to my card.  It's time for a new catalog from Stampendous which means wonderful new images to create with!  Those that know me best know that I have a love of daisies.  They're so simple and sweet.  Here's the card I created:

This is the new Cling Jumbo Daisy from Stampendous; isn't it wonderful?  The really cool thing is, it comes with a free 2-part template that you can use to mask the flower OR the background.  I used it here to mask the flower while I darkened the paper around it with scattered straw distress ink.  I love the template!  So let's give credit where credit is due!  The base is Bazzill and the lovely patterned papers are My Mind's Eye.  I covered my image with Boss Gloss and stamped it directly on my patterned dot paper, then sprinkled on some wonderful Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel around the petals and Royal Blue Tinsel Powder in the center.  These are both in the new blue Encrusted Jewel Kit that's coming soon for your Fran•táge fun.  Once cooled, I covered it with my new masking template and dusted on the Tim Holtz scattered straw distress ink around the outer edge and die cut it with a big Life Style Crafts circle die.  Using the next size up, I cut out another circle to use as a background to really make the yellow pop.  At the last minute I decided to tuck half of the background circle behind the cool striped patterned paper.  I just liked the funky look to it.  To continue the circle theme, I added a bright yellow button in each corner.  Sassy, huh?  I just really like how bright and fun this card turned out.  Who could be sad looking at such a happy flower!

So, I hope you've enjoyed this little peek at one of my new favorite stamps!  I'll give you another peek soon at another gorgeous stamp coming your way.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Lea
