Camping Time!

Or is it glamping time?  Either way, for Stampendous it's a fun time "On The Road!"
I've used Campground Perfectly Clear Stamps Set for my card this week and it's definitely a favorite for me!  We love to camp and go as often as possible.  One of the things I love about living in North Carolina is having the beach and the mountains close by for easy access camping to each.  Another thing I love about this set is that adorable little camper.  Even though we have a new 32' camper, I really want one of the little vintage campers to make into a studio in my back yard.  Just my own little getaway where I can go and create and get into that zen-like state that I enjoy!

Here's what I've used to create this card:

Spectrum Noir™ Markers
Orange Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
ZipDry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives
3D Foam Mounting Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®

Here's who's playing along today:

Lea Fritts (me)

I do hope you love this sweet little set as much as I do!  If you enjoy camping or have a Boy Scout or Girl Scout in the family, this set would be great for cards, scrapbook layouts and even little memory books.  I'll see you again next week with more fun inspiration, in the meantime, have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Lea

Hopping with DecoArt

Today is the final day of the Stampendous® hop with DecoArt® and, as always, I’ve had a fun time!  I've done another small canvas for today using DecoArt's® Media Fluid Acrylics™ line of paints and one of my favorite stamps from the Stampendous Pink Your Life line, Whisper Birthday Rubber Stamp, along with the sentiment stamp, Heart of Friendship.  This particular sentiment really speaks to me because I have so many friends scattered around the world.  There are some I’ve never even met in person, yet, I still love them dearly!

Here's what I used to create this canvas:

Spectrum Noir™Markers by Crafter’s Companion
Artist's Loft™ Necessities™ Canvas Board
Miscellaneous Brushes

Here’s what I did to create this canvas:

Stamp your image on mixed media white paper.
Color the stamped image with your medium of choice and cut it out.
Mix the teal hue with the white and paint the canvas three quarters of the way from the top and down to create your sky.  If needed, add just a drop of turquoise like I did to give it a little deeper color.
Paint your grass on with the green gold paint, as you build your layers you get your light and dark areas.
Using the white paint and a round brush, just add some wispy clouds.
Adhere your stamped and colored image to the canvas using matte medium.
Once you’re sure everything is good and dry, stamp your sentiment.
This was another super simple canvas to create!  I love making these little canvases.  It’s such a fun way to showcase your stamps and just hang them around your house or sit them on little easels.  Then, when one catches your eye, you can’t help but smile.

Prizes (but, of course!):

Stencils and Paints and Stamps, Oh My!

Stampendous® is hopping with DecoArt® this week and it's always a fun time!  I've done a small canvas for today using DecoArt's® Media™ line of paints and one of my favorite stamps from Stampendous, Puddle Boots along with the Umbrella Stencil.  I had planned to use the Stampendous stamp, Cute Boots, with this canvas but due to unforeseen circumstances, I no longer have the stamp.  So, I had to compromise and write my own sentiment.  No biggie, right!?  That's what we crafters do, we make the best of every situation!

Here's what I used to create this canvas:

Spectrum Noir™ Markers
PITT Pen in Black by Faber-Castell
Artist's Loft™ Necessities™ Canvas Board

This was a super simple to create!  I colored the stamped image and cut it out.  That was probably the hardest part of the whole project.  After that I just squirted some paints on the canvas and brushed them around mixing them as I went along.  Once that was dry, I laid the stencil down and using a sponge, I dabbed paint onto it.  I let that dry and using the Matte Medium, I adhered the stamped image.  I allowed that to dry and using a PITT pen, I wrote the sentiment.

I plan to find a spot for this little canvas when I'm settled into my new craft room.  It's a good reminder for me to do some puddle jumping! I hope you have a wonderful day!  I'll see you again tomorrow with another fun little project!

Hugs,
Lea

Wicked Wednesday with The East Wind

Hello!  It's time for another Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge and, this time around, our sponsor is The East Wind and our theme is Embellish It.  The image I've used is Lucy Loo Midnight Mermaid.

Here's what I used for this ATC:

Spectrum Noir™ Markers
Stampendous® Mixed Media White Paper
Love Nicole™ Tonal Patterns Paper Pad
Stickles™ in Aqua and Grape by Ranger®
Miscellaneous Flower
E-Z Runner® by Scrapbook Adhesives™

I opted to keep this ATC very simple as I really want the focus to be on her, not so much the embellishments even though that's the theme.  I find that sometimes keeping the embellies simple has a bigger impact on the image itself.  I suppose it's all up to personal preference!  I hope you will decide to play along with us.  It is fun!  See you again real soon!

Hugs,
Lea
