Butterfly Sparkles

Hi there!  Just a quick post to share a little card I did using Butterfly Trio from Stampendous using Royal Blue Embossing Tinsel from the new Blue Encrusted Jewel Kit.  The papers are Neenah, Bazzill and My Mind's Eye.  This is probably one of the easiest cards I've ever created!  I stamped my image using Boss Gloss, embossed it, die cut it with Spellbinders Label die, and edged it with a little distress ink.  I cut some paper strips and using a square punch, I cut my "dove tails."  I adhered the strips with Beacon Zip Dry, pop dotted the image on and voila!  Easiest card ever!!  I will say the photo does not do this card justice as the butterfly is VERY sparkly.  It's hard to capture the glittery goodness!  If you're looking for a card to do in 30 minutes or less, this is the one!

Hope you like it and I appreciate your stopping by to take a peek!  Have a blessed day!

Lea

Upside Down!

When my dad passed away last September I felt like my world had been turned upside down.  I had a really difficult time with his passing.  I found out he was sick in July, discovered it was cancer in August and before my brain could really wrap itself around the inevitable, he left me on 9/11.  Kinda appropriate for a hero to leave on a day honoring and remembering other heros.  So, this page is for my dad and when I can write on it without breaking down in tears, I will.

Yes, this page IS upside down in my journal, I wouldn't have it any other way!

This was done with Ranger Dylusions and a couple of different Dyan Reaveley stamp sets.  I did use a glimmer spray on the sun to make it sparkly.  The flowers were colored with Dylusions and Pitt Pens from Faber-Castell.  Just something fun I thought I would share with you today.  I've really enjoyed getting into art journaling.  I find it very soothing to the soul.  If you haven't tried it, you should!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Lea

Deco Lady

Here's another quick post to share a card I created with Deco Lady from Stampendous.  I love the vintage feel of this stamp, she's such a beautiful lady.

I stamped the image using my Boss Gloss Embossing ink and then embossed it with Aged Wine Embossing Enamel from the Purple Encrusted Jewel Kit.  I colored it with Copics and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  My card base is Bazzill and my patterned papers are Memory Box.  I layered my papers, added my May Arts ribbon bow and decided where I was going to pop my image on with pop dots. I then added a mixture of Powder Blue Color Fragments from the Blue Encrusted Jewel Kit and Royal Purple Glass Glitter from the Purple Encrusted Jewel Kit  using Zip Dry.  I popped my image on and that's it!  Easy peasy and pretty to boot!  I hope you like her as much as I do!  I really love the new Encrusted Jewel Kits, they come in blue, purple and pink.  You can mix the kit contents around and come up with your own combinations like I did here.

So that's it for today; thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!

Pomegranate Anyone?

Just a quick post today to share a card I did using the new Pomegranate stamp by Stampendous and their Purple Encrusted Jewel 5-Jar Kit..  The image is stamped on Neenah and colored with Copics.  Using a  Versamark pen, I added a little ink inside the flowers and inside the pomegranate to add some texture using Vintage Lilac Embossing Tinsel.  I also added a little of the darker Royal Purple Glass Glitter inside the pomegranate and the lighter Lavender Glass Glitter around the card.  The ribbon is from May Arts.

This is just a quick share, I hope you enjoy it.  I am just loving the new stamps and the new Encrusted Jewel kits!  So much fun and so easy to use!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's a quick post to share my a page from my art journal.  Well, actually it's a two-page spread for those that like to get technical!  This page is for my sweetheart, Danny.  I love him heart and soul and have loved him since I was 12 years old.  Hard to believe I've loved him for 40 years already!

The background was created using Dylusion inks.  Most of the stamps are Ranger's Dyan Reaveley line and stamped with Archival Ink.  I did stamp the "angel" with Memento and colored her with Copics, cut her out and adhered her with Beacon Zip Dry.  The arrow and "Lovestruck" sentiment were from a little set of clear stamps I picked up somewhere and no longer have the label so I can't give proper credit.  I did add a little Smooch to the arrow hearts to give them a little sparkle.  I used my Ranger Inksentials white pen to do a little outlining and doodle some hearts.  I used my Faber-Castell gelatos on the heart stamps and a black Pitt Pen and Pink Pitt Pen for other doodles.  A fun page to express my love for the love of my life!  Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

Hugs,
Lea

Happy birthday, Brenda, I love you, too!

Wonderland Movie Magic

Hello, movie goers!  Welcome to my first post as a member of the design team for the new Movie Magic Monthly challenge blog!  We'll have a new movie inspired challenge for you each month; that gives you ample time to create a little movie magic of your own.  If you would, please help spread the word, the more players we have, the more fun it will be for everyone.  This month's challenge movie is Alice in Wonderland.  What a great movie to start with and there are tons of Alice in Wonderland images out there.  So, put on your creative hats and hit your stash!  Here's my card:

Here's a list of supplies used:

Copic Markers
Tim Holtz distress ink in peeled paint
Memento Tuxedo Black

Steampunk Fun

Hi folks!  This is a quick card I made for a fun Steampunk Challenge at Simply B Stamps.  Isn't she adorable!?

Here's how I did this cute card:

  • Printed my digi stamp with my laser jet and colored her with Copic Markers
  • Trimmed my image to the size I wanted and added shabby shutters distress ink from Tim Holtz
  • Created my card base of Bazzill to 5" x 5 1/2"
  • Cut my base patterned paper from Bo Bunny (the gears) coming in a 1/8th of an inch all around
  • Cut my striped patterned paper to frame my image on
  • Using metal heat duct tape, I cut out two gears with a Spellbinders die
  • I cut one gear from the patterned paper as an accent
  • Using ScorTape, I adhere all my layers
  • The gear dies were adhesive backed already so I off-set the backing paper with the tape gears and adhered them to the card (I didn't want to waste the tape backing!)
  • I adhered the patterned paper gear and DONE!
I hope you like her!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs!
