Stencils and Paints and Stamps, Oh My!

Stampendous® is hopping with DecoArt® this week and it's always a fun time!  I've done a small canvas for today using DecoArt's® Media™ line of paints and one of my favorite stamps from Stampendous, Puddle Boots along with the Umbrella Stencil.  I had planned to use the Stampendous stamp, Cute Boots, with this canvas but due to unforeseen circumstances, I no longer have the stamp.  So, I had to compromise and write my own sentiment.  No biggie, right!?  That's what we crafters do, we make the best of every situation!

Here's what I used to create this canvas:

Spectrum Noir™ Markers
PITT Pen in Black by Faber-Castell
Artist's Loft™ Necessities™ Canvas Board

This was a super simple to create!  I colored the stamped image and cut it out.  That was probably the hardest part of the whole project.  After that I just squirted some paints on the canvas and brushed them around mixing them as I went along.  Once that was dry, I laid the stencil down and using a sponge, I dabbed paint onto it.  I let that dry and using the Matte Medium, I adhered the stamped image.  I allowed that to dry and using a PITT pen, I wrote the sentiment.

I plan to find a spot for this little canvas when I'm settled into my new craft room.  It's a good reminder for me to do some puddle jumping! I hope you have a wonderful day!  I'll see you again tomorrow with another fun little project!

Hugs,
Lea

  2. So cute! My 4 year old granddaughter, Jenna, would love this!! She loves to walk in puddles and in the Summer she really looks forward to rainy days because she knows that she will be able to play in the puddles as we go to get our mail!
I can still remember the look on her face the first time I told her she could walk in the puddles! I wish I had a camera because the look on her face was sheer joy and delight!
Thank you for making me remember this beautiful moment I shared with my precious angel! TFS!

  5. Cutting out the boots was well worth the effort.
they are so bright and colorful and pop
off the page. We haven't had much rain this
winter - hope spring will bring a lot more.
