Wicked Wednesday with Julia Spiri

It's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is Julia Spiri Stamps.  Our theme is Fall Fairies and the image I've used today is Little Fairy.  Julia's fairies are all just so adorable and this one is certainly no exception.  I love her sweet little shy smile!  Originally I was going to color her in more traditional fall colors but I decided to use a softer, sweeter version of oranges by using more apricot tones with some rose tones.  I just feel like fairies should be more pastel in color choices as opposed to darker colors.  I don't really know why I have that mindset, I just do.  It's all a matter of personal preference, like most art!!

Here's what I used to create this ATC:

Copic Markers
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko
Bundled Sage Distress Ink by Ranger
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cover Stock
My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy 6x6 paper Pad
Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this ATC:

Print image, color with markers and trim to 2.25"x3.25".
Edge image with green ink.
Stamp sentiment with black ink.
Trim patterned paper to 2.5"x3.5" for ATC base.
Adhere image to ATC base.

That's it for me today!  I appreciate your stopping by to have a look!  Come back and check it out again.  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Blessings and hugs,
Lea

Wicked Wednesday with Sweet Pea Stamps

It's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is Sweet Pea Stamps.  The image I've used is from Conie Fong and it's called "Sally and Snowball."  She's an amazing artist and I just love her images!  This is a sad post for me, though, as Sweet Pea Stamps is closing on November 25th.  Truly a sad day for many who love the variety of artists there.  However, you still have time to go take a look and pick up some adorable digis.  Our theme this week is to use torn paper or torn edges, so, get tearing and come play along!

Here's what I used to create this ATC:

Copic® Markers
Neenah® Classic Crest™ Solar White Cover Stock
Light Blue Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Radiant Neon™ Amplify! in White by Tsukineko®
Crystal Micro Glitter by Stampendous!®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this ATC:

  1. Print image, color and fussy cut.
  2. Cut your ATC base from blue cardstock to 2.5"x3.5".
  3. Trim a piece of white paper to 2.5"x3" and tear into strips.
  4. Layer strips of white across bottom finishing with the clean cut edge on the bottom.
  5. Add a little blue color to define edges.
  6. Add glitter to torn edges and then a little more at the bottom as shown.
  7. Glue image to ATC and add shadow with markers.
  8. Add white Amplify! in random dots and heat.

It's such a simple ATC  but I love the way the Amplify! brings it to life with the snowfall.  I think it turned out really sweet.  So show us what you can do with some torn up stuff!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you again soon!

Hugs,
Lea

We're winding up our week of fabulous fall findings at Stampendous and I don't believe there's anyone who loves fall as much as me!  Well, there may be a few other gals, it's a good thing I don't mind sharing that title!

My card for today was created using Harvest Owl, a total favorite stamp of mine.  I was collecting owls before collecting owls was cool.  I suppose I never left the trend behind in the 70's.  This "all-in-one" stamp makes it so easy to create a cute card, it's pretty much fail proof.  We have several of them for your crafting pleasure, this one just happens to be my fav.

Stamp image with brown ink, color and cut out
Create an A2 card base with a tent fold
Trim patterned paper to 4" x 5.25"
Create double bow from sheer ribbon and adhere to patterned paper
Adhere patterned paper to card base
Using foam squares, attach colored image to card front

Here's some additional inspiration for you today:

Lea Fritts (me)

Glorious Leaves

Hey there!  It's Stampendous Dreamweaver Thursday and this week, we're celebrating fall in all of her majestic glory!  I'm a huge nature lover and fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  If I could have spring and fall, I would be a happy girl.  I could easily skip winter and summer altogether!  I'm blessed to live in an area that's close to the mountains and there's nothing prettier than a mountain ablaze with fall foliage.  It's a wonderful sight to behold.  This is Pilot Mountain, it's about 20 minutes from my house.  Not too shabby!  Think Andy Griffith show and references to Mount Pilot, yep, that's the one!

So, with so much inspirational beauty close by, it's easy to "fall" in love with my favorite season.  Here's my card for today, and, yes, I've very thankful!
