Yes...SANDY Claus! All of this week, the Stampendous and Dreamweaver teams are playing with a mix of their products, along with some wonderful, SAND-ABLE papers from Core'dinations. Here's what I'm sharing today:

So, I know this is a totally different color scheme for a Christmas card but I like it!  So many people do green, red, purple, silver and gold cards and I've been eyeballing this black and white snowflake paper for a while trying to decide what to put with it.  So when I was looking through my Core'dinations paper and saw the new Chalk Core black/blue combo, I knew it was just right! It's really cool because it gives a neat chalkboard look to it when sanded.  Usually I pick my stencil/stamp first and then pick papers but this was one of those occasions when the papers picked the stencil and dies first.  I love the distressed chalkboard look of this card!

Here's what I did to create this card:

• Dry embossed my stencil through my Big Shot and then sanded and trimmed it to the size I wanted
• Trimmed another piece of the same paper to use as a mat for my embossed piece and distressed the edges
• Created a card base for a 4x6" card, folded it in half using a tent fold and sanded the edges
• I trimmed a piece of my patterned paper and distressed the edges
• Using the same chalk core paper, I cut out two snowflakes and gave them a light sanding
• Using glue and the crystal micro glitter, I covered both die cut snowflakes and the embossed snowflake
• Adhere all layers as shown

Feeling a Little Witchy?

I am...Bwahahahahaha!  It's the 31 Days of Halloween and time to celebrate all things spooky!  Stampendous Stamps and Dreamweaver Stencils have some of the best Halloween goodies to make cards, home decor and party supplies for the scariest Halloween ever!  Today I've got a card that uses products from both companies.

I had a lot of fun creating this card.  This was a case of looking at the stamp and knowing exactly what paper, die and embellishments I needed to use as well.  I wanted the witch to have some depth and thought about stamping her and cutting her out but then I spotted my box of transparencies and decided to go that route instead.  I'm so glad I did!

I really wanted some gray fragments and since Stampendous doesn't make that color, I decided to create my own.  Easy to do with alcohol ink and/or an airbrush!  If I had a refill bottle, I would have just mixed them in that, however, I didn't so I put some rose fragments in a jar, stuck my Copic airbrush nozzle with my T8 Sketch marker into the top and hit the trigger.  Well, let me just say, that was interesting experience.  Quite a few of them blew up and out of the jar!  So, next time I covered the top with my had and sprayed away.  It was kind of like watching popcorn pop and with a little shaking around, I had some great gray fragments!

I played around with the lighting and liked how this one made it look like the jack-o-lantern was creating a glow in the woods.  I thought it would be fun to share both photos!

Here's what I did to create this card:

Trim transparency to desired size, stamp image with embossing ink, add powder, remove excess powder and heat.

Once cooled, add glue to jack-o-lantern and apply orange micro glitter.

Add glue to witches dress as shown and apply lime micro glitter, set aside to allow glue to dry.

Create A-2 card base with a tent fold from purple cardstock.

Trim patterned paper to fit card base with a small edge of purple showing.

Adhere patterned paper to card base.

Take embossed transparency piece and flip over so embossed and glittered side is down and adhere to card base with glue dots, this allows the image to show completely with the glitter showing through.

With black cardstock, die cut the tree and then cut branches off to adhere to card as shown.

Airbrush rose fragments with gray marker, mix with purple fragments and apply to bottom of card with glue.

I have to say, I LOVE how this card turned out, it's just like I saw it in my head!  I also love how the the transparency photographed along the bottom of the card.  The reflection looks like mist rising from the ground.  Sooo cool!

Going, going, gone...

Stamp bat background stamp with black ink onto white cs

Stamp large bat with back ink onto white cs at an angle

Stamp words around bat as shown with orange ink

Create A-2 card base with a tent fold from orange cs

Trim mats for stamped images with black cs

Punch an edge from orange cs to fit across bottom of large bat image

Attach punched piece to black mat

Adhere all layers as shown, angle large bat image

Add glue to card front, sprinkle on color fragments and shake off excess

Using excess "drips," attach two to mouth area of bat

Can you tell that sometimes Dream Team's "Fearless Leader", Pam Hornschu, has a hard time deciding on monthly challenges? Since the team will be taking turns all month with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween, and we are doing a Christmas collaboration with Stampendous and Core'dinations the 13th - 17th, the confusion should be understandable. Therefore...happy HallowThanksMas! As usual, we'd love for you to play along with the challenge and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog. Okay, I have been dying to use the metallic copper paste on a pumpkin.  I have to say, I am not disappointed!  It is just as yummy as I imagined.  I went over the copper with crackle paste just on the body of the pumpkin and I LOVE it!  Talk about awesome texture!  Plus, do you see how cool the copper looks shining through the crackle?  You should see it in real life, delicious!

Here's what I did to create this card:

Paste emboss pumpkin stencil on patterned paper with copper paste, set aside to dry

Once the copper has dried, replace the stencil and paste with the crackle paste, set aside to dry

Create an A-2 card base with a tent fold from brown cardstock

Trim patterned papers as shown

Once pumpkin has completely dried, trim to desired size

Ink over crackle paste with distress ink, also ink all edges of paper

Trim a mat from brown cardstock for stenciled piece

Adhere all layers as shown

Add pearls to card and color with Copic® marker

Adhere all three layers with paper glue

Free-hand cut six leaves from dot paper, adhere to ATC

Using marker, add some shading to each leaf

Adhere small pearl to each group of leaves

This is what I did to create this card:

Using Boss Gloss, ink Skull Stack stamp and stamp onto white cs, add embossing powder and heat

Repeat this process for the Lady and Jack stamp and the sentiment

Inking just a corner of the Skull Stack stamp, repeat above process using Lettuce embossing powder

Add distress inks around edges of sentiment, skull background and fussy cut skulls

Fussy cut Lady and Jack stamp and remove pumpkin

Fussy cut green skulls as shown

Add green ink to dress pieces

Layer sentiment and skulls as shown

Create card base with a tent fold

Trim patterned paper as shown

Trim skull image edges and adhere to patterned paper

Trim away some of the ribbon so that it's somewhat wavy, adhere to patterned paper layers as shown

Adhere all pieces as shown
