Positively Pin-spirational!

Hello and welcome back!  It's Thursday and time for another Dreamweaver Stencils project! The Dream Team has a big day to day! Not only are we into week three of our Pinterest Inspired challenge, we are also playing with Ranger's Stickles Dry Glitter in the mix! Here's my Pin:

I love this picture as I'm crazy about the beach and I've always had fun building sandcastles.  Mine have never looked this good but I have fun trying!  Now here's my card based on this Pin:

Here's another angle to try to pick up more of the sparkle from the glitter!  

To create this card I first embossed my Dreamweaver Stencil, LL 3033 Sand Castle, with white embossing paste and set it aside to dry.  Once dry I colored the paste with my Copics and created the sand, sea and sky.  Next using Zip Dry, I added my Stickles Dry Fine Glitters, Eucalyptus, Waterfall and Tropical Tangerine.  I created my card base with Bazzill and my patterned paper is Bo Bunny's Barefoot & Bliss.  My sentiment is from Stampendous and their new line of digital downloads.  For this card I used Sandy Kiddos, printed it off, cut it to size and colored the background with a Copic.  My ribbon is from May Arts and adds a nice finishing touch.  We've had so much fun playing with jars of sparkly goodness, that we want to share the fun with two lucky crafters!

Yay! It's Blog Hop Friday!

Yay!  It's Blog Hop Friday!  After so much inspiration this week, are you feeling a little etch-y?  Those of us at Stampendous have sure had fun and we hope you have too!  Armour Etch is a really cool product and, I know I said this yesterday, but, it's so easy to use!  Here's the official link to show you how simple it is!  I'm sure I'll buy more to create some gifts for Christmas. If you're interested, you can buy some, too, here!  For today I created a votive holder using Cling Zinnia and a glass holder I purchased at the Dollar Tree.  I had already stamped the image with VersaMark onto the glass and embossed it with Copper embossing powder when I realized it would be nice to have photos showing the process.  So, the next best thing is to start the photos from the point where I've stamped, embossed, and edged with Contact paper, here goes:

 A nice thick coat of etching cream and the time is set for 6 minutes!

Time to rinse off the etching cream and peel off the embossing powder to unveil the design!

Glass is etched in all the right places but the detail in the center of the flower was lost.

In order to fill in the center part of the flower, I added some Zip Dry adhesive and then added some fun glitters and mica fragments, all from Stampendous!

Here it is all lit up!  I think it's kinda pretty!

Feeling a Little Etch-y

Who knew that designing for a Stampendous! Stamps would lead to etching glass!?  This was something I've never done before and it was much easier than I ever could have imagined!  Armour Etch does all the real work for you!  Initially I was very intimidated by this product and I soon found I had no need to be afraid.  I picked a round mirrored disk that is meant for a candle.  I cleaned it off with alcohol, wiped my embossing buddy over the glass, using VersaMark ink, I stamped the Cling Jumbo Daisy and embossed it with copper embossing powder.  Next, I added my Armour Etch cream, waited 2 minutes, rinsed it off with warm water, scraped off the embossing powder, and, booyah!, frosted glass!  The hardest part of the whole deal, trying to get a decent picture to show you how awesome this stuff is!  I must apologize for the not so great photos!  It's hard to photograph anything mirrored so this was a bit of a challenge.

Pin-spiration!

Welcome back!  Today I have a post for you for the newest Dreamweaver Stencils challenge for June.  This month we challenge you to find your inspiration on Pinterest!  Find something you like and then let it inspire your own creation!  That's what I've done with this pin:

The link to the original post is here!  If you know me, you know I have a thing for trees.  I'm not sure what it is but I've been drawn to them for years, from climbing them as a young tomboy to stenciling them on fun projects!  I love trees!  So this particular post was right up my alley!  If you recall, a few weeks ago I created a spring tree, today I created my summer tree.

 Using a 6x6 canvas, I added some Faber-Castell Gelatos.  You might notice I decided to use greens for the grass instead of the darker tones they used in the original.  I wanted my to look a little lighter and have more of a summer feel.

 I used my finger dipped in water to blend the gelatos.  As a final touch I used a Tim Holtz distressing tool and scratched the "grass" to add some lines.  I set it aside to dry.

Next I added my Dreamweaver Embossing Paste that I've tinted with Memories Mists to make it brown and stenciled my favorite tree with LX 7020 Leafless Tree.  I set it aside again to allow the paste to dry.  The fun came next when I glued on lots of cute little buttons from my stash!

Here's my final project!!  My Summer Tree!!  I love it!  It's a much smaller version of the above but that's okay, I think it's adorable!  So easy, too!  This is my pin-spiration, now, let's see yours.  Also, for your viewing pleasure, the rest of the team has some Pinterest inspiration for you, too!  Be sure to check it out, here's the complete list:

Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo?

Ha!  He's on my card!  Along with the sweet Juliet!  Movie Magic Monthly time and we're celebrating Romeo and Juliet along with Moulin Rouge.  While I love both, Romeo and Juliet has been one of my favorite movies since I was a young girl.  I remember going to the drive-in theater to see it with my aunt and uncle and I was smitten with it from then on.  Here's my card:

I googled Romeo and Juliet images and found this one listed as a coloring page so I downloaded it, I think it's perfect. I colored my image with Copics.  My papers are Bazzill and Creative Imaginations Assemblage. I used a punch to create the tag and stamped it with a my stamp that says I love you in French.  Unfortunately, I have taken it off the wood block and don't know who the company is to give it proper credit.  I used some lovely lavender sheer organdy ribbon from May Arts and a little satin ribbon to attach the tag.  That's it, pretty simple!  I think it turned out rather sweet.  Be sure to play along and link your creation on the blog here.  I hope you enjoy my card and thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope to see you again soon!

I'm Core'dinated!

It's the big blog hop today!! We hope you've got a really large beverage, a fluffy kitten and maybe a few hours to spend with us!  My card today uses a beautiful newer stamp from Stampendous aptly named Fuchsia stamped with Memento, colored with Copics and some Tim Holtz distress ink in Frayed Burlap around the edges.  My card base is Core'dinations Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Nostalgic Collection No.13 lightly sanded around the edges.  Rather than use patterned paper, I chose to use more Core'dinations with a panel of Tillie Spotted in Love Potion that I sanded.  I wrapped the panel with some gorgeous May Arts metallic wired ribbon and added my image with some pop dots.  I tied a bow with more May Arts ribbon and attached it with a Glue Dot.  A very simple card but really pretty!

Oh That Clever Core'dinations!

Welcome back!  This week Stampendous is doing an awesome blog collaboration with not one, not two, but three different companies!  Pretty cool if you ask me.  We're playing along with May Arts, Core'dinations, and David Tutera.  My first project for you is a bookmark.  I've used a tag, rhinestones and accent piece from David Tutera, the flowers are David Tutera on Core'dinations sandable paper and the ribbon is from May Arts.  Of course, the sentiment is from Stampendous' Friendship Assortment Perfectly Clear Stamps!  The cute patterned paper is from a Michaels Recollections 12x12 paper pad.  I also used a little Tim Holtz distress ink in Scattered Straw.  This was super quick to make and really looks cute.

My next project is a card using a ready made David Tutera note card with matching envelope.  I added a little My Mind's Eye red gingham paper for the background.  Using a piece of basic red Core'dinations, I ran it through one of my Sizzix embossing folders, sanded it and framed it on a kraft mat.  I stamped that cute little Ladybug Critter stamp from Stampendous, colored it with Copics and added a little Tim Holtz distress ink in frayed burlap.  I matted my image on a kraft and gingham mat and layered them all together.  For a final touch I added the David Tutera zigzag accent piece and a little cute twine bow.  I stamped the Ladybug Critter stamp on the matching envelope to complete the set.
