Did You Hear Something?

Welcome to the summer hop of mixed media fun with Nathalie Kalbach and her fabulous Foam, Cling Rubber Stamp and Stencil Sets made for Stampendous!  I really wanted to create something fun for my granddaughter.  When I first saw the elephant set, I immediately thought of Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss.  So with that being said, here’s my fun Horton inspired canvas.  You’ll notice that I didn’t create my elephant just like Horton, however, he’s pretty close.

Here’s what I used to create this canvas:

8”x10” Canvas Board by Nicole™

Here’s a list of my teammates playing along today:

Prizes!

There are three lucky commenters during the hop that will each win a prize package that includes all three of Nathalie Kalbach’s Foam, Cling Rubber and Stencil Stamp sets. But WAIT! This is open to everyoneWe’ll announce winners on Monday June 20.
To be eligible, comment on the Stampendous blog and that of each designer’s post for the hop this week. Each comment is an entry! Give a shout out to your place of residence, we want to see how far our hop goes around the world!

Elegant Elephant

Today’s the last day of the Stampendous blog hop showcasing our stamps designed by Nathalie Kalbach, mixed media artist extraordinaire.  For the January release this year, Nat designed 3 new and innovative mixed media sets that include a 2-sided foam stamp, a cling rubber stamp and a coordinating stencil, all of which create great options for the paper crafter and mixed media artist.

For today’s project, I’ve used Elephant.  My daughter, Erin, loves elephants and this project is for her.  I’m going to have it framed so she can hang it in her bedroom.

Here’s what I’ve used for this project:

Delicata™ Gold Glitz Ink Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
VersaMark™ Watermark Stamp Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
Memento™ Tangelo Ink Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
Memento™ Love Letter Ink Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
VersaMarker™ Watermark Pen by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
Memories Mist™ in Fruit Punch, Mango Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Cherry Smoothie and  Bright Gold
Strathmore® Mixed Media Paper
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here’s what I did for this project:

Trim mixed media paper to 8” x 8”.
Spritz paper with fruit punch, pink lemonade, mango lemonade and cherry smoothie mists.
Using stencil from Elephant set, spritz with bright gold mist, move and repeat as desired.
Using damask stencil, sponge on Golden Glitz ink in random areas.
Ink stamp from Mish Mesh set with Love Letter ink and stamp randomly.
Ink stamp from Wired set (retired) with Tangelo ink and stamp randomly.
Using VersaMark ink pad, stamp border, add embossing powder and heat.
On a separate piece of mixed media paper, stamp elephant, add embossing powder and heat.
Using VersaMarker pen, add ink inside embossed elephant, add embossing powder and heat.
Cut out elephant and adhere to inked and stamped piece.

Here’s a list of my teammates playing along today:

Lea Fritts (me!)

One of the things I love about embossing the elephant twice, you get the great texture from the design but you have full coverage with the gold embossing powder.  I think this is going to look amazing framed!

We are mixing it up for three commenters during the hop. Each prize package includes all three of Nathalie Kalbach’s Foam, Cling Rubber and Stencil Stamp sets. But WAIT! This is open to everyone!  Comment on each blog post at Stampendous and that of each designer’s post on the hop this week. We’ll announce winners on Monday May 2nd.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll be posting this weekend if you want to come back by and check it out.  See you soon!

Hugs,
Lea

Cityscape

Nathalie Kalbach, mixed media artist extraordinaire, has designed several stamp sets for Stampendous and this week, we’re celebrating her newest designs.  For the January release this year, Nat designed 3 new and innovative mixed media sets that include a 2-sided foam stamp, a cling rubber stamp and a coordinating stencil, all of which create great options for the paper crafter and mixed media artist.

For my project today, I’ve used Urban Scribble.  I love cityscapes and this one is no exception.  I couldn’t wait to stamp it on a mini canvas and watercolor the image with bright, happy colors!

Here’s what I used for this canvas:

StāzOn™ Jet Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
Crayola® Watercolor Set
Canvas Board
Ikea Frame

Here’s what I did for this canvas:

Stamp image with black ink onto canvas board.
Paint image with watercolors.
Allow to dry and add to frame.

What To Do?

Welcome back to another day of the Stampendous and the Deflecto Craft Design Teams.  So, are you loving the great ideas you’ve already seen?  Plus, there’s more today and a bunch more with our big hop finale tomorrow.  For my project today, I created a desktop dry erase board using the Deflecto 8.5”x11” Black Bordered Craft Frame.  This was super fun and super easy!

Empty frame before!

Completed desktop dry erase board before writing.

Here’s what I used to create this project:

StāzOn™ Jet Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
Acetate Sheet
Faber-Castell® PITT Artist Pens in:  Pink Carmine, Middle Purple Pink, Pink Madder Lake, Orange Glaze, Terracotta, Cinnamon, Sanquine, Caput Mortuun, Skyblue,  Indanthrene Blue, Phthalo Blue, Cobalt Green, Light Phthalo Green, May Green, Leaf Green, Chromium Green Opaque, Purple Violet, and Cadmium Yellow
Dry Erase Marker

Here’s what I did to create this project:

Stamp image onto acetate with black ink, flip over and color with markers.
Trim stamped acetate to fit frame, layer white paper behind image and place inside frame.

Because I didn't stamp directly onto the frame, I can change my design any time I choose!  The possibilities are endless!

Wanna See My Favorite Project?

Are you totally loving the Stampendous Design Team hop with Imagine Crafts AND our new product sneak peek.   While I haven't used any of the Radiant Neon products for this project, I've used quite a few other inks from Imagine Crafts, after all, they are my favorites!  For my canvas project today, I’ve used one of my very favorite new stamp sets, Fashion Dame!  I love this set designed by Nathalie Kalbach with it’s awesome stencil that’s included!  I love my little canvas I've created, too!

Here’s what I’ve used to create this canvas:

Faber-Castell® Gelatos™ in Butterscotch, Chocolate and Red Cherry
Bo Bunny® Garden Girl Wild Flowers Patterned Paper
Copic® Markers: E50, E51, E53, E93, R05, C5
Liquitex® Matte Gel Medium
Deli Paper

Here’s what I did to create this canvas:

Cover canvas with Butterscotch Gelato™.
Lay stencil on upper half and, using a sponge dauber, ink canvas with Habanero Ink.
Repeat process on lower half of canvas leaving a gap in the middle.
Add Red Cherry and Chocolate Gelatos™ around sides of canvas.
Stamp Eiffel Tower and label stamps onto deli paper.
Tear around stamped image and, using gel medium, adhere to canvas.
Stamp Fashion Dame and color her with markers.
Stamp jacket and skirt onto patterned paper with purple ink.
Fussy cut girl and clothing.
Using gel medium, adhere girl and clothes to canvas.
Stamp text stamp in gold ink randomly around canvas.
Run Spanish Moss ink around edges of canvas.

On Your Mark, Get Set...

...KISS!  This week, Stampendous® is hopping with Glue Dots®, my favorite little dots of glue ever!  There are so many fun things you can do with them, use them to adhere items to each other, add embossing powder and heat, or, my favorite, add glitter! It's so easy, just sprinkle a little glitter on top and, using your finger, burnish the glitter into the dot.  It's the perfect way to add little bits of sparkle here and there!

The card I'm posting today, is actually one I wanted to create last week to celebrate our wonderful Nathalie Kalbach and her amazing stamps she designed for Stampendous!  Unfortunately, I risked the "cooties" and the "cooties" did me in!  Needless to say, my card didn't get finished last week but I've completed it and I'm sharing it with you today, cootie free, of course!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Radiant Neon™ Pigment Ink Refills by Tsukineko in Electric Blue, Electric Pink and Electric Purple
Radiant Neon™ Pigment Ink Pads by Tsukineko in Electric Blue, Electric Pink and Electric Purple
Pink Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Blue Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this card:

Drip refills onto Creative Palette and, using a brayer, spread ink.
Place paper down onto ink covered palette and rub with your hand (or brayer), lift paper and set aside to dry.
Ink stamps and stamp onto various pieces of paper previously inked on palette.
Trim stamped images to desired sizes.
Create an A2 card base with blue cardstock.
Adhere large background piece to card base.
Trim mats for stamped images from pink cardstock.
Adhere stamped images to mats and then adhere to card.
Add a few mini glue dots, cover with glitter, burnish glitter, tap off excess glitter.

Prize Information:

As our fans know we love a contest while we hop, so, three lucky commenters will win a prize package that includes:

Glue Dots® Craft Dots 3/8”
Glue Dots® Mini Dots 3/16”
Glue Dots® Removable Dots 3/8”
CRS5080 Cling Create Christmas Stamp Set by Stampendous®
DCS5080 Create Christmas Die Set by Stampendous®
MGK02 Christmas Micro Glitter Kit by Stampendous®

Just comment on both company blogs and all the design team posts for our hop with Glue Dots. Commenting is open until Sunday, November 1st at 11:59 pm and winners will be announced sometime on Monday, November 2nd. See Official Contest Rules.

Dreamweaver Fiesta

Hello again!  It's Stampendous Dreamweaver Thursday and I'm having a Fiesta, my own version of a party on a card!  I wasn't sure I was going to make it to this party as I've been under the weather, however, I rallied at the last minute last night and finished this one out.  Thank goodness for good medicine and that's a reason to party.  As if I needed a reason!

So, we're having fun this week getting messy with our cards.  This is one of my favorite things to do, the messier, the better, but, only if it's pretty!  LOL!  Nathalie Kalbach has designed some amazing stamps for Stampendous that let you get very messy but in the best way!

Close-up of all the cool drips, drops and spots!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Delicata™ Golden Glitz Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
Glue Dots® in Craft and Mini
Metallic F/X™ in Amber Glow
Memories Mists™ in Bright Gold, Orange Juice, Cherry Smoothie and Plum Sake
May Arts Ribbon®
Arroyo Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this card:

Trim a piece of mixed media paper for your card front and spritz the entire thing with gold mist
Tape stencil over paper and spritz additional colors over the gold, remove stencil
Stamp Vintage Note in gold ink randomly over paper
Drip ink from Plum Sake and Cherry Smoothie onto paper
Using VersaMarker™, add ink in splotches, cover with gold embossing powder and heat
Using VersaMark™ pad, ink up Fiesta stamp and stamp onto scrap of white paper, add gold ep, heat
Trim around embossed image and spritz with Cherry Smoothie and Orange Juice mists, wipe excess off of embossed areas
Trim a piece of ribbon to place across card front, attach to paper securing ends behind paper
Create an A2 card base with a tent fold
Adhere card front to card base
Using foam squares, attach Fiesta image to card
Add glue dots randomly on card front and burnish on Metallic F/X with your finger
