Colorful Cosmos

One of the many things I love about being a part of Stampendous Design Team, all the beautiful floral stamps they carry!  I love flowers, something I believe I inherited from my grandmother.  Her first name was Iris and she always had some planted in her yard!  My card today uses the new Cosmos Spray and I know it's going to be a favorite of mine!  I bet you'll fall in love with it, too!

Here's what I used to create my card:

Stampendous:
P263 Cosmos Spray

ASCRS03 Cling Industrial Set
MEM01 Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink by Tsukineko®
MPW811 Mixed Media White Paper
Medium Perfectly Clear Acrylic Stamp Handle

Plus:
Dark Red Bling Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®

Green Cardstock by Core’dinations®
Ribbon by May Arts
atyouSpica™ Gold Glitter Pen by Copic®

Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create my card:

Stamp image and color.
Trim image to desired size
Create an A2 card base with a tent fold from dark red paper turned to dull side.
Stamp background of card base.
Create a mat for image from green cardstock and adhere image to mat.
Make a bow and secure ends around matted image.
Adhere matted image to card base.

Here's the complete list of my teammates playing along today with more inspiration:

You Giraffe Me Crazy

Today is our last day of the Stampendous "Let's Go Wild" theme as we showcase our newest animals to hit our line-up!  I have to admit, I'm pretty wild about them, too!  Did you see what I did there?  LOL!  I'm a big fan of giraffes, there's something so sweet about their faces and, to be honest, they're pretty silly looking.  Only in a good way, though!  Here's my card for today:

Here’s what I used to create this card:

Stampendous!®:
PenPattern Giraffe
Dreamweaver©:
Plus:
Memento™ Rich Cocoa Ink by Tsukineko®
Memento™ Toffee Crunch Ink by Tsukineko®

Tim Holtz® Tumbled Glass Distress Ink by Ranger®

Iced Cocoa Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Copic® Markers (W4, W7; E31, E33, E35, E41, E25, E30; G21, G24, G28; YG63)
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here’s what I did to create this card:

Stamp image and color.
Stamp sentiment onto image.
Trim to desired size.
Add distress inks as shown.
Create A2 card base with a tent fold.
Trim a tan panel for the background.
Lightly stamp “dirt” across bottom of tan panel.
Adhere all layers as shown.
Die cut one leafy branch and two petite ferns from green scraps.
Cut apart and glue on pieces of die cuts as shown.
Add simple shading to die cut pieces.

Here’s a list of my teammates that are playing along with me today:

In case you're wondering about the cute dog card at the tail end of our wild animals, it's because our amazing Kristine was skipped on the list last Friday.  Her card is so totally adorable and it really deserves the added attention!  After all, the poor doggy was skunked by a wild animal!

That's it for today!  I appreciate your stopping by to have a look.  I'll see you again soon with more fun cards created by me for the best stamp company around!  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Lea

It's Irrelephant!

We're going wild this week at Stampendous with some awesome Dreamweaver stencils and some great stamps!  Today I have a card with a little bit of Indian spice and lots of stuff that's nice!  Here's my card:

Here's what I used to create this card:

Tim Holtz® Distress Ink in Pumice Stone by Ranger®
Neenah® Classic Crest™ Solar White Cover Stock
May Arts Ribbon®
Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesive
Scrapbook Adhesives® 3D Foam Mounting Squares by 3L®
Self-Adhesive Pearl by Want2Scrap™

Here's what I did to create this card:

Mix some regular white paste with a squirt of gold paint and a pinch of beads for some fun texture
Paste emboss stencil with mixture directly onto trimmed patterned paper, set aside to dry
Create A2 card base with a tent fold from blue cardstock
Trim bottom layer of designer paper
Stamp sentiment on scrap of white paper with blue ink and add distress ink
Trim a mat for sentiment and adhere sentiment to mat
Cut two strips of ribbon
Once paste has dried, adhere elephant to bottom patterned paper and wrap ribbons around as shown covering edges
Adhere these layers to card base
Add foam squares to sentiment and attach to card over ribbon

This was a fun card to create, I like the effect of the micro beads and will add those to future pasted projects for sure.  Just something different! Here's a list of my teammates that have more wild animals to share with you:

Lea Kimmel (me!)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Comments, as always, are appreciated!  Now it's your turn to get wild and show us what you can do!  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Lea

Let’s check out today’s inspiration from our designers:

Fabulous Faber-Castell

This week our team is showcasing the Art Grip Aquarelles Watercolor Pencils, the PITT Pastel Pencils, and our very special guest Nathalie Kalbach is featuring the Gelatos! There may even be guest-starring roles by the PITT Artist Pens for doodling and drawing!  I hope you enjoying the colorful inspiration we have for you this week! We’ve been Blogging in Color!

3 Lucky Winners this week will get three sets of the PITT Pastel Pencils (red/yellow, blue/green, neutrals), a jar of Faber-Castell Chalkboard Paint, and $20 Stampendous reward card to choose their favorite images to color! WOW… these winners must have a U.S. mailing address (official rules here!)… BUT WAIT- Aussie Fans – The Stencil Specialist has you covered again this time!! One Australian Fan will win a Stampendous Stamp, a Dreamweaver Stencil (LJ size customer choice), and one Dreamweaver Stencils Regular Embossing Paste. Wow!!

Here's my project for today:

Here's what I used to create my card:

Archival Ink™ in Jet Black from Ranger®
Bo Bunny® A Gift of Love Collection, Sweetie Pie Squeeze
Limeade Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
May Arts Ribbon
3D Foam Mounting Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®
Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this card:

Stamp image, color flower with pencils and leaves with Gelatos
Trim closely around image
Scribble some black Gelato on a craft sheet and spritz with water
Using a large sponge dauber, lightly sponge Gelato through Damask Stencil on pink paper
Create card base from green cardstock in an A2 horizontal tent fold
Trim pink stenciled paper down to size as shown
Create a mat for stamped image from green cs and edge with Black Licorice Gelato and smudge
Adhere image to mat
Trim a piece of ribbon and wrap ends around pink paper
Adhere pink paper to green base
Attach foam mounting squares to back of matted image
Adhere image to card base

I really wanted this card to have an elegant look with a slight, very slight, grunge look.  Something trés chic with a little bit of "oo la la."  I wanted the background to be subtle and I love that it's just peeking out behind the image.  This card turned out exactly the way I had it pictured in my head.  I always love it when that happens!

Let’s check out today’s inspiration from our designers:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  We're really having fun this week creating with Faber-Castell’s awesome products.  I’ll see you again tomorrow with another project and more Faber-Castell yumminess as we complete our week with a fantastic final hop.  Don't forget to comment for your chance to win a prize!

Wicked Wednesday With Lemon Shortbread

Sounds pretty tasty, don't you think?  Yeah, so, it's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is Lemon Shortbread.  It's really hard for me to focus on stamping when I see their name because it makes me want a cookie!  LOL!  I love lemon flavored goodies.  So, back to stamping!  The image I've used is "Owl On A Branch" and our theme this week is to create an ATC with text added.  Here's my ATC:

Here's what I used to create this ATC:

Copic® Markers
Tim Holtz® Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire by Ranger®
Perfect Pearls™ Mists in Sunflower Sparkle by Ranger®
Scrap of Little Yellow Bicycle® Paper
Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this ATC:

Print image on paper and again on acetate
Cut paper image to 2 1/4"h x 3 1/4"w
Trim image on acetate close to edges of image to use as a mask
Color image with markers, add a yellow moon and then dust with distress ink
Place mask over image and stamp text stamp around image
Remove mask and add drips of Perfect Pearls™ by removing sprayer and tapping it over image
Trim base paper to ATC size and adhere the image to the base
Run edges of base over the gold ink pad

So, easy peasy, right?!  If you're an owl and/or tree lover like I am, then you'll want this sweet image. The other Lemon Shortbread images are equally sweet and so much fun to color!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll see you tomorrow with a post for Stampendous.  We're collaborating with Faber-Castell this week and I'm posting on Thursday and Friday.  We also have some great prizes, so, come check it out, otherwise, see you next Wednesday!

Lea

Fish Doodles

Hello there!  It's another Stampendous Dreamweaver Thursday and this week we're doing something fun!  We're Sten-tangling, Zentangling or just plain ol' doodling!  I have to admit, Zentangle is not my thing so I just doodled!  I've been doodling for years so this was super fun for me!  Since summer is almost here, I decided to make it summery and somewhat masculine.  This card would work well for  a teen boy in particular.  Here's my card:

Strathmore® Mixed Media Paper, 400 Series
Bo Bunny® Barefoot & Bliss 12x12 Barefoot Word
Yellow Orange Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Dylusion® Inks in Calypso Teal, Pure Sunshine, Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange
Glue® Dots Brand Adhesives
Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this card:

Tape stencil down on mixed media paper and outline stencil with black pen
Remove stencil and doodle designs into different sections of the fish
Water down teal ink and brush onto paper around fish
Paint yellow and orange inks onto fish, set aside to dry
Create vertical A2 card base with a tent fold
Trim background paper to fit as shown
Trim fish image to desired size
Trim a mat for image in the same paper as base
Adhere all layers as shown
Attach glue dots and add micro glitter onto each dot being sure to burnish glitter into dots

Trim white paper to ATC size, color top of paper with blue watercolor pencils
Using same strip of paper, hand tear two pieces for mountains
Using glue, edge each "mountain" with glitter
