Day 3 of the Effy Wild Challenge

Today I have another spread to share with you from my small Dylusions journal.  This one was a lot of fun even though it turned out messier than I had planned.  Still, I enjoyed to process and that's what really matters.

This spread uses one of my all-time favorite stamps from Stampendous called Ranunculus Field.  It's a larger stamp so it's perfect for a small journal like this one.  I watercolored it loosely using my  Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.  These watercolors are so richly pigmented and creamy.  If I could spread them on toast and eat them, I would!  Not really, however, they are delicious to work with.  I wanted the sky to have that soaking rain kind of look and I think it looks like it, at least close enough!  The quote is simply printed from my computer, lightly inked and adhered with gel medium.

I love this quote from Jim.  I can actually imagine him saying this with one of his funny expressions.  Like, duh!

I hope you like my spread and enjoy the quote as much as I do.  Until tomorrow, beautiful souls!  Blessed be!

Everyday Chicks

I love the new Stampendous Everyday Chicks!  These are just the cutest little fluff balls and they really bring a smile to my face.  A short while back, I was lying in bed trying to fall asleep and I started thinking about this set.  I love words, word games, puns, fun plays on expressions, pretty much anything to do with words.  Do you get it?  Tres chic(ks) - Very pretty/three chicks in Paris!  Yeah, okay, it's corny, I know.  Still, it's just one of those things that popped into my head and it just wouldn't go away until I created this page.  So there, now my brain can move onto another project!

So, this is a journal page done with fun in mind.  I love the juxtaposition of the images.  I love the cute little cartoon-style chicks and font mixed with the more realistic-style Eiffel Tower and trees!

Here's what I used to create this journal page:

Lea

Delicata™ Silvery Shimmer Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
Strathmore® Watercolor Paper
Purple Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon
3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®

Here’s what I did to create this card:
  1. Trim watercolor paper to desired size
  2. Spray inks onto watercolor paper, allow to dry
  3. Stamp snowflakes randomly onto inked paper with silver ink
  4. Stamp largest snowflake onto purple cardstock and die cut
  5. Adhere ribbon to stamped paper as shown
  6. Trim a piece of purple cardstock for card base with a tent fold
  7. Adhere stamped piece to base and add snowflake with foam squares

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I do apologize for my post being tardy, however, I'm having internet connection problems at home.  Thankfully they're coming in the morning to try to fix whatever is going on.  Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!  See you again on Friday!

Tombow Time!

It is always a great time hopping with Tombow USA and we are thrilled to be hopping over the weekend with them. Our design teams will be sharing some pretty awesome projects with products from our prizes list, you will not want to miss out on a single day!

So, now that you've seen the fabulous Stampendous Metal Stencil Duo Sets, what do you think?  For today's card, I've used the new Hearts Metal Stencil Duo Set.  I collect heart-shaped things so this one really speaks to me.  This is especially nice for Valentine's Day!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Stampendous® Heart Metal Stencil Duo Set
Stampendous® Mixed Media White Paper
Tombow® Permanent Mono Glue Pen
Dylusions™ Bubblegum Pink Spray Mist by Ranger®
IrRESISTible™ Colored Texture Spray in Lilac Posies by Imagine Crafts®
Viva Decor® Pearl Pen in Ice White
Gelly Roll™ White Gel Pen
Ki Bright Geo Paper Pad by Hampton Art®
Bubblegum Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
I.5" Sheer Dots Ribbon in Fuchsia/White by May Arts Ribbon®

Here's what I did to create this card:

Trim a piece of white cardstock (cs) to fit two hearts.
Using the enclosed pen with the Stencil Duo heart stencil, outline the main heart shape onto the white cs.
Remove the heart stencil and place the other stencil over the outline of the heart.
Move the stencil around to suit your needs for the design and draw the design into the heart.
Color this heart with color pencils, add white dots with gel pen and cut out.
Put the heart stencil back onto the leftover white cardstock and this time, using the glue pen, outline the heart shape and write the sentiment, this is known as glue resist technique.
Once the glue dries, spritz on the pink mists and then wipe off the extra spray from the glue areas.
Cut out the second heart leaving enough edge to see the glue portion.
Trim Bazzill® cardstock to create an A-2 card base with a tent fold.
Trim patterned paper to fit inside card base.
Wrap ribbon around patterned paper and adhere tails to back side of paper.
Adhere patterned paper to card base.
Adhere hearts to card front.
Last, but not least, add Pearl Pen™ pearls around edge of spritzed heart.

Hi all!  It's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is Creepie Cute Stamps.  The image I've used today is Catching Stars and our theme this week is to use Orange and Black.  Here's my take on this week's challenge:

Here's what I've used to create this ATC:

Copic® Markers - BV02, C4, C5, C7, C9, E50, E51, E53, YR000, YR00, YR01, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09, YR18, YG11, YG13, YG95
Faber-Castell® PITT Artist Pens - Green Gold, Black, Orange Glaze, Cinnamon
Tim Holtz® Black Soot Distress Ink Marker and Pad
Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
Memento™ Tangelo Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
Dylusions® Slate Grey Ink Spray
Scrap of gray paper
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this ATC:

Print image, color with markers and fussy cut
Trim ATC base paper to ATC size
Using green gold pen, add "sand" to bottom of paper
With stippling brush, add distress ink randomly over paper
Paste stencil starfish in lower right corner, heat with gun to dry
Using Seaside stamps add designs as shown
Add a few lines with black distress marker and rub over them with a baby wipe
Using a paint brush, brush on a few swipes of gray spray ink
Color starfish with cinnamon and orange glaze PITT pens
Using black PITT pen, write sentiment across top of ATC
Adhere mermaid to ATC

I loved coloring this image and creating my little dark under the sea world.  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you again next week with another ATC challenge.  I'll have more posts this week so stop on by Thursday, Friday and Saturday and take a peek.

Hugs,
Lea

Wicked Wednesday and That Craft Place

It's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is That Craft Place.  Our them for the week is Use Numbers Anywhere on Your ATC.  I've used two images on my ATC for today, It's Not Fair - Grumpy Bubbles and Scrabble Word/Number Tiles.

Here's what I've used to create this ATC:

Copic® Markers:  E50, 51, 53, 93, 41, 42, 43, 44; YG01, 03, 25; B41; RV55
Dylusions® Spray Inks in London Blue, Calypso Teal and Fresh Lime
Tim Holtz® Distress Ink Marker in Twisted Citron
Neenah® Classic Crest™ Cover Stock in Solar White
Bo Bunny® Splash Patterned Paper
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue from Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this ATC:

Double the scrabble tile images one on top of the other and print all three images along with typed sentiment
Color her and fussy cut, set aside
Trim the scrabble tile image 1/4" smaller than ATC size and spray with inks, heat with heat gun to dry
Trim patterned paper scrap to ATC size
Adhere all layers as shown

This was a super easy and fun ATC to create.  I love using the sprays for my backgrounds and just watching how the colors mix.  And, in case you're wondering, which you're probably not, I really don't like math!  Thanks for stopping by!  See you again soon!

Hugs,
Lea

Wicked Wednesday and DRS Designs

Hello there!  It's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is DRS Designs.  Our theme for the week is Stars & Stripes!  I'm a very patriotic soul so this week's challenge is a favorite!  The image I've used is USA Thanks to Our Brave.  This one was near and dear because I spent 9 years on active duty in the U. S. Army.  I'm proud of my service to our wonderful country!

Here's what I used to create this ATC:

Copic Markers
atyouSpica™ Glitter Pens
Dylusions® Spray in Postbox Red
Americana 6x6 American Crafts™ Paper Pad
Red Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this ATC:

I printed the image twice in two different sizes as I wanted the bottom portion of the image to be smaller than the USA.
I colored the USA with Copics® first and then cut out each letter.
Next I decided to go over each letter with glitter pens to add a little pizzazz!
I didn't want the sentiment to remain white so I spritzed it with red spray mist and set it aside to dry.
I cut the base of the ATC from red cardstock.
I cut the patterned background paper and adhered it to the ATC base.
Next I added a little sparkle to my patterned paper with glitter pens.
Since the sentiment was dry now, I added a little glitter to "Free" and "Brave."
Next up was all the layering and adhering as shown.

I would love to see your patriotic ATC's so I hope you'll join us this week.  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Lea

Fish Doodles

Hello there!  It's another Stampendous Dreamweaver Thursday and this week we're doing something fun!  We're Sten-tangling, Zentangling or just plain ol' doodling!  I have to admit, Zentangle is not my thing so I just doodled!  I've been doodling for years so this was super fun for me!  Since summer is almost here, I decided to make it summery and somewhat masculine.  This card would work well for  a teen boy in particular.  Here's my card:

Here's what I used to create this card:

Faber-Castell® PITT Artist Pen, Black 190, Medium Point
Strathmore® Mixed Media Paper, 400 Series
Bo Bunny® Barefoot & Bliss 12x12 Barefoot Word
Yellow Orange Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Dylusion® Inks in Calypso Teal, Pure Sunshine, Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange
Glue® Dots Brand Adhesives
Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this card:

Tape stencil down on mixed media paper and outline stencil with black pen
Remove stencil and doodle designs into different sections of the fish
Water down teal ink and brush onto paper around fish
Paint yellow and orange inks onto fish, set aside to dry
Create vertical A2 card base with a tent fold
Trim background paper to fit as shown
Trim fish image to desired size
Trim a mat for image in the same paper as base
Adhere all layers as shown
Attach glue dots and add micro glitter onto each dot being sure to burnish glitter into dots

Here are my teammates that are playing along this week and have projects to share with you:

Lea Kimmel (me!)
Tenia Nelson

That's it for me today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll have another project to share with you tomorrow so please do stop back by and have a look!  In the meantime, have a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon!

Hugs,
Lea
