Wicked Wednesday with KennyK

Hello there!  That's right, it's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is KennyK!  Our theme this week is "You're A Star" and the image is City Star Christmas Digital Image.  She's a sweet one to color!  I decided to use some non-traditional colors for this one, just needed a break from the traditional red and green.

My papers are all from the scrap pile and unfortunately, I don't have a clue who made these but they just seemed perfect for the direction I wanted this to go.  So, I apologize for not knowing the maker for this one.  She's colored with Copics listed here:
  • Skin:  E00, 11, 33, 93
  • Eyes:  YG93, 95, 97
  • Lips:  R35, 37, 39
  • Hair:  E40, 41, 42, 43
  • Hat:  B95, 97, 99; W0, 1, 4
  • Background:  YG61, 63, 67; C0, 1, 3, 5; B91, 93, 95; W0, 1; 0

I also used an EK Success punch for the additional stars, which I then rounded the points of with scissors.  My sentiment is from A Muse.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  You're greatly appreciated and in my eyes, you're a star!  We would love for you to play along with our challenge.  We even have a new fb page for you to visit. Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge.  Stop by and join in on the fun!  I'll see you again soon!  Have a great day!

Frosty the Snowman

Where did the summer go? Kids are back in school, with all the insanity that goes with it, vacations are a not-so-distant memory, and it is once again time to get busy with the important things in life...crafting for the holidays! Yay! All of September the Dream Team will be featuring all the new goodies we have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter holiday season. New stencil designs, new dies, and...brand new embossing folders featuring some of our top-selling designs, all to be found on-line through the Stencil with Style web-site, or your local papercrafting store.

Here's my holiday inspiration for this week:

Here's what I used to create this card:

Add A Little Dazzle Wondrous White Metal Sheet
Little Yellow Bicycle® Winter Twig "Ski Sweater"
Bazzill® Cardstock
Crystal Stickles®
May Arts Ribbon® Bakers Twine
Spectrum Noir™ Markers:  OR1, IG8, True Black, CR8, CR11, IB2
Copic® Markers:  E25, E27, BG01
Beacon Adhesives® Zip Dry™
Foam Mounting Squares

Of course, we have our monthly challenge for you to play along, so post your own holiday creations, and use the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the prize at the end of the month. We also have our fabulous Guest Designer for the month of September, Wendy Price! Here's the list of our "A" Team with their links for the week:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my simple little Snowman card.  It's simple but fun and I sure had a good time creating it.  I'll have another Stampendous post tomorrow so please come and check it out.  Have a blessed day!

Sunrise, Sunset...

Welcome back to our last week of the Dreamweaver Stencils© July challenge using the new dies!  Have you ever seen a picture of something and thought to yourself, I know just what I could create that would work perfectly with this photo?  I came across this one and fell in love with it!

I knew the die I used for this would be perfect!  What do you think? Here's my card:

Okay, so it's not a perfect match but I'm sure you get the idea!  Here's a few more pics showing the process:

Here's what I used to create this card:

Neenah® Classic Crest™ Solar White Cover Stock
Olive Green Cardstock
Light Brown Cardstock
Copic® Markers Y00, 11, 15; YG93, 95, 97; E71, 74, 77
Beacon Adhesive® Zip Dry™

Here's what I did to create this card:

Run die through cutter with green and brown papers
Trim a piece of white cs to fit behind die cut
Airbrush yellow markers onto white piece of cs creating a "sun"
Trim green piece to create two pieces, one for top, one for bottom
Color both dies with markers to just add some shading
Create card base
Adhere die cut pieces onto yellow-colored piece as shown

This is such a simple card and could really work nicely for a man or woman.  I didn't want to add anything else to it, I really feel like the die can stand on it's own without any additional embellishments.  This is our last week for the July die challenge.  Here's some inspiration from the rest of the team:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I appreciate your visit and hope to see you again soon!  Have a blessed day!

Tiny Bubbles...

Remember the song that Don Ho made famous in Hawaii!?  If you're not familiar with it, you need to Google it for a giggle or two!  Just writing the title has it running through my brain, I hope it goes away soon!  LOL!  So I have another cute little sneak peek from the April 2014 Stampendous® Catalog.  This one uses Stampendous® House-Mouse Designs® Blowing Bubbles.  I just love these little mice!

I wish you could see the sparkle in the bubbles.  They're always so much cuter in real life.

Here's what I used to create this project:

Stampendous® House-Mouse Design® Blowing Bubbles

Making Memories® “Garden Party”
Bazzill®
Glossy Accents™

YG21, 23, 25
E23, 43, 50, 51, 53, 93
T2, 4, 6
W4, 5, 7

Here's how I created this project:

Well, that's it for sneak peeks from me!  LOL!  Remember, this image isn't on the web site yet so patience is required, and, I hear it's a virtue!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to you again soon!  Feel free to leave me some love!

Zombie, Tea or Me?

Hi there!  It's time for another friendly challenge at Desert Islands Crafters Challenge Blog and this time around our sponsor is The Stamping Boutique.  The image I've used is Zombie Girl with Tea, somewhat of a visual oxymoron, don't you think?  I love her, I think she's adorable and since I collect old teacups, this one really cracked me up.  Here's the itinerary for this challenge:

1.  polka dots
2.  make it an ATC or tag
3.  citrus colors (yellow/orange/lime green/pink)
4.  add ribbon
5.  Spring theme
6.  Add eyelets
7.  Include an animal
8.  Zombies
9.  Washi Tape
10. Monochromatic

I've used #'s 1, 3, 4, 8 and 9 and here's my project:

Does she crack you up as much as she does me?  Every time I look at this card, I giggle, I just can't help myself.  Notice how her skin is starting to turn blue, bless her heart!  Oh, that's right, she's a zombie!  LOL!  Sorry, I'm just amused!

I hope you'll take time to create something fun and play along with us.  You could win a prize so what do you have to lose?  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.  If this is your first time here, take a look around, you might find something you like!  Have a blessed day!

Desert Islands Crafters Challenge Time!

So, I'm a little behind the 8 ball for this one but I hope my card will make up for my tardiness.  Let me just say, it's been a crazy weekend and I'm actually glad it's almost over!  I don't say that very often but I'm looking forward to the week ahead!  Our Desert Islands Crafters Challenge sponsor for this round is Polka Doodles, the image I've used is Dollie Daydream Goes East - Lantern Digi.  I've colored my image with Copics, enhanced her with a little chalk make-up (eye shadow and blush) and chalked the background.  I also used chalk for my lantern glow on the outside of the lantern.  Here's the itinerary for this challenge:

1. Asian Themed
2. Lots of Red
3. Metallics
4. Text (as in, paper or embellishments with text on them)
5. Mythical Creatures
6. Vellum
7. Found Object from Nature
8. Stripes
9. Use Chalk
10. Make it Glow

For my card, I used all but #5.  I just didn't have any mythical creature stamps or embellies that would have worked!  Here's my project:

I really had fun with this one!  If you're wondering where the metallic part of my card is, I used DecoArt's Metallic Lustre in Gold Rush on her dress hooks and trim around the edge.  I also used if for the handle of the lantern.  I punched the flowers out of vellum with a punch from  EK Success and colored them with Copics on the back side.  It was a beautiful spring-like day here in North Carolina so I enjoyed my little walk-about looking for just the right twigs for my "cherry blossoms."  My papers are Bazzill, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cover and Basic Grey's "konnichiwa."  The chalks are from Pebbles, Inc.

We hope you'll play along with the DICC team, you just might win!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Lea

A Latte of Love!

Hi!  I do hope you've had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and you're now ready for the count down to Christmas.  Yikes!  I'm so not ready but today's card for the Desert Islands Crafters Challenge is more than just a card, it also holds a gift!  Well, okay, so it's a gift card but that's okay, it's one less present to wrap.

If you know me at all, you know I love Starbucks.  It's one of my favorite places to just sit and chat while relaxing with a warm peppermint mocha latte in the winter and an icy cold mocha frap in the summer.  Their gift cards make it so easy to pick up a quick little hostess gift or stocking stuffer and I pick up several every year.

Here's the challenge itinerary:

1.  Cupcakes
2.  Speckles & Splatters
3.  Recycle Something
4.  Add a Charm
5.  Lace
6.  Distress it
7.  Polka Dots
8.  Make a Gift
9.  Feathers
10.  Add a Bow

For my card, I've used 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 10.  Here's my card:

Here's how I created this card:

Stamp Saturated Canary Latte image, color with Copics, trim to desired size
Create card base and mat for image from Bazzill
Trim patterned papers for card
Distress edges as shown with paper distresser
Add pine needles distress ink around edges; antique linen around image, followed by pine needles on edge
Adhere patterned papers as shown
Trim Starbucks cup sleeve to fit across bottom of patterned papers, adhere to card on sides and bottom only leaving the top unsecured to create a pocket
Adhere lace to bottom of card to cover bottom edge of cup sleeve
Using foam squares, adhere matted image to card front
Tie bow with gift card string and insert gift card into pocket

Here's a list of products used for this card:

Neenah Classic Crest
Bazzill
Crate Paper "Bundled Up" 6x6 Pad
Copics
Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pine Needles and Antique Linen
Zip Dry Adhesive
Crochet Lace from JoAnn's
Foam Mounting Squares
Starbucks Cup Sleeve and Gift Card

I had such a good time creating this card for the new challenge.  Saturated Canary images are just adorable.  I would like to extend a huge thank you to Krista at Saturated Canary for sharing her talents with us!  I hope you'll be inspired to play along with us!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!

Santa Claus is Coming...

...to town!  First he's making a list and checking it twice so you'd better be good!  Stampendous® has the best Santa stamps and Cling Jumbo Dear Santa is one of my favs!

Portrait of an Indian Princess

I'm really excited as this is my first post as part of the Desert Island Crafters Challenge Blog Design Team!  Woohoo!  Fun times ahead for sure!  For my first card, our sponsor is Bombshell Stamps and my image is from the Indian Princess set.  This is how it works, on the 1st and 15th of each month a challenge is posted to create a project using the items listed on that week's Desert Island Itinerary.  Each Desert Island Itinerary will have 10 items/techniques/colors. Your challenge is to use at least 3 items on the itinerary. Here's the itinerary of items for this week, dreamed up by Kathi from the Bombshell DT:

 1. Use Indian corn colors of Rust, Gold, Deep Red, and Tan
 2. Thank you or Thankful Theme
 3. Dry or Heat Embossing
 4. Three Layers
 5. Metal
 6. Die Cuts
 7. Charms
 8. Photo Corners
 9. Ribbons
10. Lace

Here's my card using 1., 4., 8., 9. & 10.:

I created my card using the digital version of the set so I printed out the main image on Neenah Classic Crest, colored it with Copic markers and trimmed it down to the desired size.  I edged it with Tim Holtz distress inks in antique linen and then a little tea dye.  I created a mat for the image, adhered the two pieces with Zip Dry and added my 3L Scrapbook Adhesives Photo Corners in gold.  I set the matted image aside and created my card base from Bazzill and my other patterned papers are My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose collection.  The crochet lace is also part of the Stella and Rose line as their Decorative Trims, the gold ribbon is May Arts.  I trimmed and adhered all of my papers and trims, then pop-dotted my image onto the card base.  And here you have my portrait of an Indian Princess.  I think she came out rather pretty!

So, check out the blog here, use the link on the blog and all the instructions are listed on the right side.  I hope you enjoy my card, I can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!

Hugs,
Lea
