Falling for House-Mouse

Labor Day has come and gone, the days are getting shorter, the nights cooler and summer will soon be a memory.  Fall is a lovely season here in North Carolina.  The leaves changing in the mountains are gorgeous and I never tire of their beauty.  I love this time of year!

Stampendous loves this time of year, too!  We have some amazing fall stamps and stencils.  Of course, the House-Mouse Designs are some of my personal favorites.  I'm in love with this adorable stamp, Acorn Cap Rubber Stamp.  These mice are just the cutest little critters!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Frayed Burlap Distress™ Ink Pad by Ranger®
Mandarin Cardstock by My Colors®
Copic® Markers
3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®
On Point Glue™ by Imagine®

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'll see you next week with more Stampendous inspiration.  Until then, enjoy the last little bits of summer and the beginnings of fall!

Hugs,
Lea

Blossom Vase & Mixed Mesh

The January 2018 Stampendous Catalog has been released and debuts our new line of 6" x 6" cling rubber stamp line.  For my card today, I've used the awesome Cling Mixed Mesh Rubber Stamp.  It's my personal favorite as it has so many of the fun elements usually created by applying several different layers of techniques.  You get your script writing, bubble wrap, book print and stencil look all in one stamp!  Just add ink, paint, or whatever medium you prefer!  This card also uses Blossom Vase.  I loved the circles on the vase and it was a great way to showcase the circles from the background stamp that ties the two together.  It turned out to be a super bright and happy card that made me smile!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Elegant Elephant

Today’s the last day of the Stampendous blog hop showcasing our stamps designed by Nathalie Kalbach, mixed media artist extraordinaire.  For the January release this year, Nat designed 3 new and innovative mixed media sets that include a 2-sided foam stamp, a cling rubber stamp and a coordinating stencil, all of which create great options for the paper crafter and mixed media artist.

For today’s project, I’ve used Elephant.  My daughter, Erin, loves elephants and this project is for her.  I’m going to have it framed so she can hang it in her bedroom.

Here’s what I’ve used for this project:

Delicata™ Gold Glitz Ink Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
VersaMark™ Watermark Stamp Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
Memento™ Tangelo Ink Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
Memento™ Love Letter Ink Pad by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
VersaMarker™ Watermark Pen by Tsukineko®/Imagine Crafts®
Memories Mist™ in Fruit Punch, Mango Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Cherry Smoothie and  Bright Gold
Strathmore® Mixed Media Paper
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here’s what I did for this project:

Trim mixed media paper to 8” x 8”.
Spritz paper with fruit punch, pink lemonade, mango lemonade and cherry smoothie mists.
Using stencil from Elephant set, spritz with bright gold mist, move and repeat as desired.
Using damask stencil, sponge on Golden Glitz ink in random areas.
Ink stamp from Mish Mesh set with Love Letter ink and stamp randomly.
Ink stamp from Wired set (retired) with Tangelo ink and stamp randomly.
Using VersaMark ink pad, stamp border, add embossing powder and heat.
On a separate piece of mixed media paper, stamp elephant, add embossing powder and heat.
Using VersaMarker pen, add ink inside embossed elephant, add embossing powder and heat.
Cut out elephant and adhere to inked and stamped piece.

Here’s a list of my teammates playing along today:

Lea Fritts (me!)

One of the things I love about embossing the elephant twice, you get the great texture from the design but you have full coverage with the gold embossing powder.  I think this is going to look amazing framed!

We are mixing it up for three commenters during the hop. Each prize package includes all three of Nathalie Kalbach’s Foam, Cling Rubber and Stencil Stamp sets. But WAIT! This is open to everyone!  Comment on each blog post at Stampendous and that of each designer’s post on the hop this week. We’ll announce winners on Monday May 2nd.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll be posting this weekend if you want to come back by and check it out.  See you soon!

Hugs,
Lea

Hello, Beautiful!

Hello, beautiful "Faces of Stampendous!"  It's been an amazing week of gorgeous girls and some pretty cool creations from our amazing Design Team.   Over the past week you've seen Beautiful Braid, Beauty(ful) Face, Feminine Face, The Glance, and The Look!  I decided to create a 6x6 canvas for today's project using The Look and combining my love of Copic markers and DecoArt's Americana Paints!

Here's what I used to create this canvas:

Stampendous® Cling The Look
Stampendous® Not All Wander
Stampendous® Mixed Media White Paper
Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
Copic® Markers - E11, E13, E15, E37, E19, E50, E51, E53, E93, R02, R05, B21, B23, B24
Americana® Acrylic Paints by DecoArt®:
     Warm White
     Snow White
     Spa Day
     Winter Blue
     Baby Blue
     Sapphire
     Primary Blue
     Bleached Sand
     Antique White
3D Foam Squares by 3L®
Zip Dry™ Paper Blue by Beacon
AC Moore® Studio 6x6 Canvas

Here's what I did to create this canvas:

Stamp face with black ink, color with markers and fussy cut.
Paint canvas, set aside to dry.
Paint a strip of paper with "sand" paints.
Stamp sentiment onto strip of paper and attach to canvas with foam mounting squares.
Adhere face image to canvas.

Here's a list of my teammates playing along today:

I love to paint and I love to stamp, so, when I get to combine my two favorite things, I'm in Heaven!  This was certainly a treat to create and share with you today.  All of the lovely "Faces of Stampendous" are perfect for cardmaking and mixed media/journaling projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look at "The Look."  I'll see you again soon with more Stampendous goodness.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Dreaming of You

So, how are you enjoying the many faces of Stampendous?  Pretty darn awesome, aren't they?  For my card today, I've used Beautiful Braid rubber stamp combined with Stampendous Dreamweaver Stencil DWLG762 Fairy.  From the first time I saw this stamp, I saw butterfly and fairy wings on her back.  You will definitely see this stamp again combined with butterfly wings!

Another thing I love to do is mix the various Stampendous Essentials to get my own mix.  I love having the ability to mix the various fragments, glitters, micas and embossing powders to match my papers and colored image.  If you don't have color fragments, you need them!!  I love those delicious little flakes of color.

Here's what I used to create this card:

Copic® Markers
Blue Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Memory Box® Viola 6x6 Paper Collection
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon
Glue Dots® - Small

Here's what I did to create this card:

Stamp image with black ink and color with markers.
Paste emboss fairy wings onto back of girl.
Add lilac powder to wings and heat with heat gun for molten magic technique.
Using VersaMarker™, extend wing size with marker, sprinkle on blue embossing powder, heat.
Trim image closely.
Mix fragments, mica and glitters in a separate container and set aside.
Create 6x6 card base from blue cardstock.
Trim background papers as shown and adhere to card base.
Take image and edge with VersaMark™ pad, sprinkle on ice blue embossing enamel, tap off excess.
Sprinkle on essentials mix and heat powder, this will embed the mix into the powder.
Adhere image to card front.
Using glue, adhere additional mix as shown, set aside for glue to dry, tap off loose mix and return to container.

This card might look like it was complicated to create, however, it really wasn't.  It was actually quite easy to put together and I'm so pleased with the final result.

Here's a list of my teammates that are playing along today:

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'll have another post for you tomorrow sharing another wonderful face from Stampendous.  In the meantime, have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Lea

Always a Lady

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!  It's Day 31 of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween!  Can you believe it's already THE best day of the year?  My how the month has flown by.  Later today, I'm going to transform myself into a wickedly fun witch and celebrate the night with family and friends.  It's been incredibly busy of late so I'm looking forward to a night of relaxation.

In honor of this most auspicious of days, I'm sharing my scariest of Stampendous Halloween cards.  I absolutely love this stamp, she's called Skeleton Lady.  She's incredibly elegant in a spooky cool way.  I love the Victorian style dress and I can just picture her walking down a street in the French Quarter of New Orleans!  Of course, if you look at the postal information, the address is French, very fitting!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Stampendous®:

Plus:

Chameleon™ Markers (NU1, RD4, Y03, CG8)
Tim Holtz® Black Soot Distress Ink by Ranger®
Black Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Red Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
ZipDry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives™

Here's what I did to create this card:

Stamp image and color with markers.
Trim image closely all around.
Add black distress ink all around image.
Distress edges with scissors and add additional distress ink.
Trim a mat for image from black cardstock.
Create an A2 card base with a tent fold.
Adhere all layers.
Add red micro glitter to dress.
Mix fragments and glass glitters and adhere to edges, tap off excess.

Set aside to dry.

So, I hope you are as in love with the Skeleton Lady as I am!  Now, go forth and Trick or Treat!

Hugs,
Lea
