Collectible Curios

Stampendous® has a new cool stamp that debuted in the January 2018 catalog, our new Curio Rubber Stamps.  They're awesome stamps that are made with the same wonderful, gray, graphic rubber that our regular stamps use, but, their mounts are really cool, full-color, three-dimensional wood blocks that are fun to stamp with or just sit there looking cute.  I plan to collect them all so I can have them to stamp with or just look at for inspiration or a smile!  My card today uses Curio Birdie Friend.

Here's what I used to create this card:

Stampendous® Products -

CUR01 Curio Birdie Friend
MPW811 Mixed Media White Paper
MEM01 Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink Pad by Tsukineko®

Other Products -

Copic® Markers:  YG61, YG63, YG67, E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, BG02, BG05, BG07, Y15, Y17, Y23, Y35, B32, B34, B37, B39, B41, C0, C1
Atlantic Shore Cardstock by My Colors®
Family Ties 6x6 Paper Pad by Pebbles®
White Gelly Roll® Pen
May Arts Ribbon®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this card:

  1. Stamp image on white paper with black ink and color
  2. Trim image loosely and set aside
  3. Create an A2 card base and mat for image from blue cardstock
  4. Trim pattern papers as shown
  5. Cut a piece of ribbon to fit across card
  6. Adhere bottom layer of patterned paper to card base
  7. Adhere ribbon to yellow strip of patterned paper and then to card base as shown
  8. Adhere additional layers as shown

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'll have another card to share with you on Friday, so please come by for another look!  Until then, have a blessed week!

Summery Sister Sun

It's the last day of July and I thought it would be fun to create a card with my favorite Tsukineko® inks for the Imagine Color Challenge that ends today.  Yeah, I kind of procrastinated on this one since I lost all of my ink pads in my house fire.  Good friends and teammates had kindly provided me with some new pads, but, alas, there were no yellows!  So, I had to force myself to go shopping and buy some yellow pads.  I'm sure you know how difficult that was! Bwahahahahaha!  The challenge color is yellow, a happy color that warms my soul!  Something else that warms my soul, Stampendous® Stamps!  It just seemed right to combine my favorite Tsukineko® inks with my favorite stamps.  So, without further ado, here's my card made with Stampendous® Laurel Burch Sister Sun and Scrolled Sunshine:

Here's a close-up showing some of the glittery goodness from the Delicata™ Golden Glitz pad:

Here's what I used to create this card:

Metallic Gold Prismacolor® Pencil
Strathmore® Watercolor Paper
Pebbles Family Ties Paper Pad
Blue Cardstock by Love Nicole™
E-Z Runner® by Scrapbook Adhesives™
3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®

Here's what I did to create this card:

Using the Delicata™ Golden Glitz ink pad, I stamped the sun onto watercolor paper and trimmed to the size I wanted for my card.
I pressed some ink from all three Memento™ pads onto an acrylic block to use as my palette.
With a watercolor brush, I picked up ink from the block and watercolored the image, blending colors as needed.
Once the image was completed, I went back over some of the detail with a metallic gold pencil to define the features and lines that had lightened in the watercoloring process.
I edged the stamped image with the gold ink and set it aside to completely dry.
I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of the watercolor paper, first in the Delicata™ Golden Glitz and then with the VersaFine™ Onyx Black, which created a bit of a drop shadow effect.
I trimmed the sentiment down, watercolored the background and edged it with gold ink.
I created a 5" x 5" card base with a tent fold from blue cardstock and then created mats for my sentiment and my main image from the same cardstock.
I trimmed my patterned paper for the background and then layered all the pieces together as shown.
I used thin foam squares to attach the sentiment and, card complete!

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and I'll see you again soon!  In the meantime, enjoy your summer days, and, if you're in the southern hemisphere, may you dream of warm summer days ahead.

Hugs,
Lea

Pretty Paisley

The new Stampendous Cling Paisley Pattern Stamp Set and matching Die Set has got to be a new favorite of mine!  I love this set and the versatility it provides.  You can create any type of card with this set!  It all hinges on the colors you use and the other stamps and embellishments you pair with it. It's one of those sets that can be girly or just right for the guys, a must in my book.  Here's the card I created for today celebrating friendship with the new Scrolled Hello Rubber Stamp.  Mask off the "my friend" and you have a simple "hello" that can be used for anyone.  Don't you just love stamps that can do double duty?  I know I do!

Here's what I used to create this card:

E-Z Runner® by Scrapbook Adhesives™
3D Foam Mounting Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®
Mono Glue Pen by Tombow®

Here's what I did to create this card:

  1. Using Memento™ ink, randomly stamp images on white paper
  2. Color images with markers
  3. Trim to desired card size (my card is an A2)
  4. Using die, cut out the one piece to be foam mounted with the sentiment
  5. With VersaFine™ ink, stamp the sentiment on a scrap of white paper and trim down to size
  6. Create your card base with a vertical tent fold
  7. Trim patterned paper to fit width of stamped background paper
  8. Adhere sentiment to patterned paper as shown
  9. Adhere all layers as shown
  10. With foam squares, adhere die cut image next to sentiment
  11. Using the glue pen, add glitter where desired

This was an incredibly easy card to create but it leaves a bold impact with the vibrant colors.  I do hope you enjoy it and find some inspiration to boot!  I'll see you again real soon and, in the meantime,  have a blessed weekend!

Cheers!
Lea

Over at Stampendous, we're wrapping up a week of beautiful spring flowers and the many containers we put them in!  Is there anything more magical than a Bicycle Basket full of flowers?  There's something very European about the look that takes me back to the three years I lived in Germany.  Great memories!

May Arts Ribbon®
Grasshopper Cardstock by My Colors®
Pebbles® Garden Party 6x6 Paper Pad
E-Z Runner® by Scrapbook Adhesives®
3D Foam Mounting Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®

Here's what I did to create this card:

Stamp bike image with black ink on white paper.
Die cut image.
Stamp sentiment on white paper with green ink.
Trim green cardstock in an A2 card base with a tent fold.
Trim floral patterned paper to fit card front.
Trim ribbon to wrap around width of patterned paper and adhere layer to card front.
Adhere bike image to card front.
Using foam squares, adhere sentiment to front of card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you've enjoyed all the fun spring container inspiration this week.  I know I love to create cards for your viewing pleasure!  I hope you enjoy your day and the weekend ahead.  I'll see you again next week.
