Bear-y Happy Birthday!

We have a different sort of collaboration for you!

At Stampendous we’re very excited to be able to offer our products in many countries around the world. We’re able to do this thanks to our terrific distributors in those countries who help retail stores to stock our products. In the UK we have a very long and valued partnership with Woodware Craft Collection. These wonderful folks stock almost all of our products, and they even stock several classic items that have retired from our store here in the US. They also stock almost all of our new Dreamweaver Stencils line, so we thought it would be another great event to celebrate the addition of Dreamweaver to the Stampendous family.

This week we’re going to celebrate with the awesome Woodware Design Team and the Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team as we showcase some of the the great Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils products that Woodware makes available to the UK market. This is good news for our crafty friends in the UK because we’ll be offering prizes and our UK friends are eligible to win!! We’ll be offering three prizes in the UK and three in the US. Each prize package will consist of Nathalie Kalbach’s terrific Grunge Mixed Media Cling Rubber Stamp Sets and the beautiful Zen Butterfly Dreamweaver Stencil! Both products are ideal for adding texture and backgrounds to your projects!  Deadline to comment is Sunday, March 29th, Pacific Time. Winners will be picked using random.org and announced Tuesday, March 31st, in the afternoon.

And that’s our theme!! Making Texture. We hope you’ll enjoy the wonderful inspiration that three talented teams will bring you this week! Be sure to visit all the blog links listed and leave your comments! Each comment will count as an entry towards one of the terrific prize packages.  Here's the first of my two projects for today:

Pumpkin Ride and Some Cool Jewelry

Happy Friday!  Today I have a post for Stampendous that has a fun Halloween card and two pieces of jewelry made from bezels by HHH Enterprises, so, this post may be a little longer than most.  We're celebrating all the fun pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns from Stampendous this week and I'm sharing a card I created for the catalog using Pumpkin Ride.  I love this sassy little girl!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Stampendous® Pumpkin Ride

Here's what I did to create this card:
  1. Stamp image and color with markers
  2. Trim image to desired size
  3. Create standard A-2 card base with a tent fold
  4. Trim patterned papers as shown
  5. Adhere layers as shown
  6. Tie bow and attach as shown
Next up I have a simple leaf bezel in an antique gold finish.  This was, by far, the easiest jewelry project I've ever done!  I sure do like the results!

Here's what I used to create this project:

HHH Enterprises® 28mm Pewter Leaf Bezel Pendant, Vintage Gold
Stampendous® Paprika Opaque Embossing Powder

Stampendous® Honey Opaque Embossing Powder
Stampendous® Olive Opaque Embossing Powder
Stampendous® Caramel Fragments
Stampendous® Ochre Fragments
Fast Finish™ by Beacon Adhesive®
VersaMarker™ Watermark Ink Pen
May Arts Ribbon®
Miscellaneous Twine

Here's what I did to create this project:

  1. I scribbled on the inside of the bezel with the VersaMarker
  2. Next I sprinkled on embossing powder in small sections
  3. Heat embossing powder until all has melted
  4. Sprinkle on some fragments
  5. Cover fragments with Fast Finish, set aside to dry
  6. Once dry, thread ribbons through and tie

Okay, I have one more project to share with you.  I hope you aren't falling asleep yet!  This one is really fun.  One of the coolest things about this project, I can switch out the contents whenever I want to!  I can change it for seasons, holidays or occasions, whatever suits my needs.  This is a round shadow box pendant-locket so I can open it up with the flip of a hinge!

Here's what I used to create this project:

Tim Holtz® Distress Ink® in Spiced Marmalade
Neenah® Classic Crest™ Solar White Cover Stock
Acetate Sheet
Fiskars® 1.5" Circle Punch
May Arts Ribbon®

Here's what I did to create this project:

  1. Punch out white cardstock piece
  2. Stamp images onto circle
  3. Ink circle with distress ink and place inside pendant
  4. Add in a pinch of fragments
  5. Punch out another circle with acetate piece
  6. Stamp bird image onto acetate and place in front glass and close
  7. Thread ribbon onto pendant

I tried to give you a close-up side shot of the pendant to show the bird but it's hard to see how it seems to be floating inside.  It looks really cool in real life.

Well, that's it for me today.  Sorry for the length but I wanted to get it all in on one.  Hope you have a wonderful day and a great weekend.  See you again soon!

Hugs,
Lea

Jumping for Joy...

...on your birthday!  Now how's that for a happy sentiment!?  It sure makes me smile, especially when paired with this adorable Stampendous House-Mouse stamp, Cupcake Jump, and the perfect sentiment, Joy Birthday.  I am just thrilled that Stampendous has added these adorable House-Mouse stamps to the family! Here's my card:

I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Classic Crest White and colored it with Copic markers. I trimmed it down and matted it on red Bazzill cardstock using my favorite glue, Beacon Zip Dry!  I set that aside and stamped my sentiment, also with Memento, trimmed it down and matted it on Bazzill.  I created my card base with red Bazzill and added this adorable cupcake paper from Doodlebug Design, Inc's Sweet Cakes collection to the base.  The twine is also from Doodlebug, it's their wonderful Doodle Twine in Valentines.  It's perfect with this paper!  Next I just adhered my main image and pop dotted my sentiment on.  That's it!  Pretty cute card, huh?  When you've got awesome images to work with, it's hard not to make cute cards!
That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to you again soon!

Lea

Double your pleasure...

...double your fun!  Today you get a two for one!

On the Simply B Stamps blog we are previewing the new Teen Scene Birthday Munsters Collection.  Needless to say, I'm just a wee bit behind having gone to CHA Convention in California.  Have I told you yet that I hung out with our very own Betty Roberts, creator of so much goodness!?  Well, I did!  I had such a good time and almost hated to come back home.  However, all good things must come to an end and now I'm back to reality and back to creating cuteness for your viewing pleasure.

First up is Birthday Pugsly Christian.  He was actually previewed yesterday but since I'm a day behind, you get to see my version today.  He's such a cutie, too!  My image is on Neenah Classic Crest and colored with Copics.  I added my own grass to polish off the image which is matted on Bazzill.  My card base is Bazzill and my patterned paper is Doodlebug Design's Surprise Party.  My sentiment is from A Muse and stamped in Tim Holtz gathered twigs distress ink.  I added red grosgrain ribbon from my stash for that little extra pop of color.  Now there you have it, a simple card without a lot of fuss!

Next us is Party Lola!  This girl is ready to throw on her party hat for a good time and a little rock and roll!  As with Christian, Lola is on Neenah Class Crest and colored with Copics.  There's just something about Lola that makes me want to color funky hair.  I don't know what it is, maybe it's a secret desire to have my own hair in some fun shade like purple or pink.  It must be my inner punk rocker!  Anyway, this little Sweetie is colored with Copics and matted on Bazzill.  My base is Bazzill and my patterned papers are from Three Bugs in a Rug's Butterfly Kisses.  This time I used a piece of the patterned paper to create a party hat complete with pom-poms!  I typed my sentiment on the computer and printed it out to layer and mount with pop dots.  Lola is also pop-dotted with a double stack of pop dots to make sure the pom-pom trim on the hat fit underneath.

Both cards were relatively simple to create and so much fun to color!  I hope you have enjoyed them and please come back tomorrow for another sneak peak.  You know you want to see!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Lea

Tea Time Lilly

Hello there!  Well, I have another adorable Jude and the Rockers Playtime image from Simply B Stamps to share with you today.  This is Tea Time Lilly and she's such a cutie just like the rest of the collection.

My image is on Neenah and colored with Copics, my favorite medium by far!  The base of the card is Bazzill and the patterned paper is DCWV The Sweet Stack.  The baker's twine is from Doodlebug and I'm not sure of the origin of my "chocolate" heart button but I found it in my stash and chose to use it.  I know this card is really simple but it has been a very stressful day.  We had to put one of our fur babies to sleep today.  Our dog Ollie was 15 and getting more and more feeble.  There's nothing that breaks my heart more than to see an animal suffering and our poor baby was suffering.  He is now in Heaven waiting to greet the rest of us like the faithful and true friend he has always been.  Our Westie, Holmes, will be lost without him as they were truly best buddies.  So, with a somewhat heavy heart, I thank you for stopping by and hope to see you tomorrow as we wrap up this preview with a blog hop.

Hugs,
Lea

Little Miss Muffin Rio

Making her baking debut on the fifth day of our Simply Betty Stamps Teen Scene Kitchen Fun collection preview is Little Miss Muffin Rio.  She is absolutely adorable!  I love her happy expression on her cute little bespeckled face!

My image is on Neenah and colored with Copics with Tim Holtz Distress Ink around the edge.  My base is Bazzill and for the patterned papers I used Best Creation's Mom's Kitchen line.  I love the paper and thought it was perfect for this image.  I added some Doodle Twine between layers in pink and aqua.  The Queen & Company rhinestones are just a little extra bling but also carry over the polka dot theme from the paper.  I used MS Word to print out my sentiment and layered it on Bazzill,ti along with an oven mitt I cut out of the patterned paper, a cute and inexpensive way to embellish.  So that's it for today, come back tomorrow for our final preview!

Pan Slingin' London

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle!  Today we are previewing Simply Betty Stamps Pan Slingin' London, fourth in the Teen Scene Kitchen Fun collection.  Isn't she a hottie!?  I thought she looked sassy and certainly too cute to be cookin'!  I thought she kind of had that look like "you want me to do what with what?"

My image is on Neenah and colored with Copics.  I cut the image out with a Spellbinder's Nestability and inked the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The base of my card is Bazzill with layers of Doodlebug Designs and EK Success (the green one) papers.  I added some Prima flowers with Queen & Co. rhinestones.  I typed up my own little sentiment in MS Word, layered it and pop-dotted it on.  She is sizzlin'!

¡Buen apetito!  (in Spanish)

Spaghetti Christian

Hi there!  Today we are previewing the Simply Betty Stamps image Spaghetti Christian from the new Teen Scene Kitchen Fun collection.  He's so cute in his chef hat that when I saw this paper I knew I had to use it!  My image is on Neenah and colored with Copics.  The base of my card is Bazzill.  The cute chef paper is Karen Foster's Chef Accessories.  I've combined that with Bo Bunny Walnut Gingham and a Lasting Impressions check.  I thought they were both very "chef-like" and they went perfectly with the Karen Foster. I used a Retro Kitchen Cuttlebug folder to add a little texture.  I finished it off with some Doodle Twine from Doodlebug Designs and my sentiment is one I did myself in MS Word.

It's a simple card but I think it's cute.  Anyway, I hope you like it and I sure appreciate you taking time to stop by and look.

Buon appetito!
