Polar Bears

...May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white...

Today is the final day of the Stampendous week of Merry and Bright.  I opted to use the Polar Bear Stamp and Die Set for my card today.  I love this set!  Bears of all types are a favorite of mine.  This was also my first time attempting to recreate the Northern Lights in ink, so much fun!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Salty Ocean Distress Ink™ by Ranger®
Wilted Violet Distress Ink™ by Ranger®
Mowed Lawn Distress Ink™ by Ranger®
Faded Jeans Distress Ink™ by Ranger®
Copic® Markers
Sharpie® White Paint Marker
Blue Shimmer Paper
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon
3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®

I have to admit, I'm pretty pleased with how this card turned out!  I wasn't sure I was going to like how the sky came together but, once I had it completed, I really liked it!  It's "merry and bright!"  Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you again next week!

Hugs,
Lea

Winter White

My Stampendous Winter White is really more like a case of Moody Winter Blues!  I don’t know about you, but I love the Moody Blues and I was listening to their music this weekend.  It really puts me in a relaxed creative mindset.  I love this stamp and die set!  It’s so convenient to have both in one set!  Even though I didn’t use one of the sentiments that comes with the set, it does have some great ones you can check out here.

Here’s what I used to create this card:

Dylusions™ Ink Spray in London Blue, Bubblegum Pink and After Midnight
Delicata™ Silvery Shimmer Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
Strathmore® Watercolor Paper
Purple Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon
3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives®

Here’s what I did to create this card:
  1. Trim watercolor paper to desired size
  2. Spray inks onto watercolor paper, allow to dry
  3. Stamp snowflakes randomly onto inked paper with silver ink
  4. Stamp largest snowflake onto purple cardstock and die cut
  5. Adhere ribbon to stamped paper as shown
  6. Trim a piece of purple cardstock for card base with a tent fold
  7. Adhere stamped piece to base and add snowflake with foam squares

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I do apologize for my post being tardy, however, I'm having internet connection problems at home.  Thankfully they're coming in the morning to try to fix whatever is going on.  Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!  See you again on Friday!

Hugs,

Lea

Wicked Wednesday with PolkaDoodles

It's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and today our sponsor is PolkaDoodles.   Our theme this week is "Baby, It's Cold Outside."  I've used two images, Frosty Penguins Octavia and Igloo.   I loved the combined image so much, I decided to keep this one very simple and let the images shine.  I did write a little, "Brr..." with a glitter pen, though!

Here's what I used to create this ATC:

Copic© Markers
atyouSpica™ Glitter Pens in Clear and Baby Blue
Neenah© Classic Crest™ Solar White Cover Stock
Light Blue Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper©
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon

Here'a what I did to create this ATC:

Combine images, print and color.
Trim image slightly smaller than ATC size, approximately 1/8" smaller on each side.
Write sentiment with glitter pen.
Trim ATC base from blue cardstock.
Adhere layers together.

So, what's the weather like in your part of the world?  It's been cold here in North Carolina and we even had snow on the ground yesterday.   Now it's supposed to be warm for several days and then more snow next week!  Yeah, it's bi-polar weather around here!  So, no matter the weather in your area, pretend it's cold and show us your best chilly ATC linked here.  I look forward to seeing your creations.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again real soon!

Hugs,
Lea

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Cold weather is headed our way!  After a December of record highs, January 2016 is coming in with a chilly blast!  In honor of the chilly weather, Stampendous has been sharing some "cool" cards all week.  Today I've got a sweet and simple little card to share that was super quick to create but, oh so darling!  And, when you have a million things to do, fast is good!

Here's what I used to create this card:

Radiant Neon™ Amplify™ in White by Tsukineko®
Copic® Markers - BG0000, B0000, B000, C1, C3, C4, C5, RV52, RV55, YG11, YG13, YG17, YR21, YR23, YR24
May Arts Ribbon®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this card:

Stamp image with black ink onto white paper, color with markers.
Using VersaMarker pen, create an oval under snow girl, add ice blue embossing enamel and heat.
Swipe VersaMark pad across paper below blue oval, add white embossing powder and heat.
Trim image to desired size.
Add Amplify to card and heat to puff.
Adhere a piece of ribbon across bottom of card.
Create an A2 card base from pink cardstock.
Adhere image to card base.
Create a bow with same ribbon and adhere to front of card.

Here's a list of my teammates that are playing along today:

Alumni designer – Rhea Weigand

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you like my quick little card!  Here's to a happy and healthy New Year to all!

Hugs,
Lea

Wicked Wednesday with Faery Ink

Hi there!  It's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog time and this week our sponsor is Faery Ink.  Our theme is "Winter Holiday" and my image is Traveling Witch Girl.  I thought she was perfect for conjuring up a snow storm!

And in a different light, you can see more of the sparkle!

Here's what I used to create this ATC:

Stampendous® Holiday Expressions Perfectly Clear® Stamps
Stampendous® Christmas Visions Perfectly Clear® Stamps
Copic® Markers
Memento™ Nautical Blue Ink Pad by Tsukineko®
atyouSpica™ Silver, Clear, Baby Blue and Sky Blue
Little Yellow Bicycle® "Winterings"
Blue Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives

Here's what I did to create this ATC:

Print image, color with markers and cut out.
Trim a piece of patterned paper to 3.25"x2.25".
Stamp sentiment and snowflakes with blue ink (use stamping off* technique for larger flakes).
Trim base of ATC to 3.5"x2.5" and adhere patterned paper to base.
Adhere fussy cut image to to front of ATC.

That's it for me today!  I hope you'll feel inspired enough to play along with our challenge!  Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon!

Hugs,
Lea

*Stamping Off is also known as Repetition Stamping. It allows you to achieve different tones of one color because the amount of ink on the image lessens each time you press it on the paper, so the image becomes lighter.  Ink your stamp, stamp it onto a scrap piece of paper, then stamp again onto your project.
